what would it take to use an evo manifold? Would I need any special adapters? I would be using it with the stock turbo or possibly a 14b. I have a 2g btw. Im just really not sure what it takes.
Thanks

Cody

Its a direct bolt on, I have the EVOIII Mani with o2 housing for sale in the classifieds if you are interested.

I'm guessing you're talking about the EVOIII manifold. It's direct bolt on. A LOT of people use it. If you're talking about the EVO VIII I don't think it fits without modification. Not really sure.

Yes, the EVO 3 manifold will directly bolt on. No adapters are needed. It fits perfectly and looks like the stock manifold but flows better.

The heat shield will also fit perfectly in case if you're wondering.

Ultimatedsm, you should know the rules by now, please keep that stuff in the pm.

Well if its off the evo8, thats a different story. It might bolt to the head (not sure) but you will probably run into issues bolting the turbo up to it. The evo8 is a twin scroll design so the collector area will be different.

Its a manifold off of an evo8. Does that change anything?
I was going to reply that the evo3 manifold bolts on no problem. I am not sure about the evo8 manifold. I think you will run into problems bolting it up to your turbo, but not 100% sure so I will let someone with some experience answer that question

Stay boostin

From what I understand the evo 8 manifold will bolt up to the motor, but I believe you would need to relocate your alternator because of where it positions the turbo.

The evo manifold also has "anti-lag" ports that would need to be blocked off. Not worth the effort if you ask me.

If I were you, I'd wait a month or so until Megan Racing introduces their new tubular manifold with the Mitsubishi flange, that should sell for around 200ish and will produce better results than the evo. It'll def last longer than the XSPower/SSautochrome shit thats goin around one bay right now, but depending on your driving habits, chances are it won't last as long as the cast iron evo mani.

Everyone keeps talking about the evo3 manifold. Is it that much of an upgrade from the 2g stock manifold?

According to RRE the runners are the same in the 2g and evoIII but the collector area is larger in the evoIII. I can tell you the SBR cast manifold is HUGE compared to the 2g mani, both collector and runners. This is the collector area for evoIII vs 2g.

Every time EVO manifold is mentioned in the DSM world, it's automatically assume that it's the EVO3 manifold because people rarely talk about the evo8 manifold. Is it a huge upgrade from a 2G manifold? NO, unless your 2G manifold is cracked and needs replacement, stick with the 2G manifold.

Alright, Thanks to everyone for the help. Ill just wait and go with an aftermarket manifold.
Thanks again.
