So Im following the Tech article someone was nice enough to write up about doing an evo 8/9 fuel pump swap into a 2g, Things were going smooth til I got to the step about removing the line down below the car...

Hopefully someone can clear this up for me because id REALLY rather not mess up the hard lines due to some confusion...

K so basically in the walk thru they lined out that theres two fittings. one takes a 19mm and one a 14mm. Check. the 14 seems to be attached to the hard line and the 19 to the rubber hose...

Now it instructs me to hold the 19mm in place and force the 14mm to spin... The only problem I have with that is it seem like thats backwards? The 19 seems like its the one on a swivel?

So I went in search of some other info to help clear things up.. came across jjrock's informative video on youtube and watched thru it...

He explains the same thing hold the 19 and spin the 14... alright, sounds comforting enough... then I proceed to watch him spin what looks like the 19mm wrench! And then start twisting in an upwards direction it seems.. well the 14mm should be turning downwards not upwards? At least thats what I can gather from looking at the exposed threads between the two...

Am I missing something here?

If someone who has done this before could PLEASE chime in and clear this up thatd be amazing. If need be Ill post pics of what my setup looks like but something just isnt making sense... I swear I can even read 14mm on the wrench that is on the inside of the two wrenches... and that wrench never spins in that video at all... :/

Hopefully someone can straighten things out for me so I can get thru this installation before it gets too much later in the night...

Thanks!

The fitting on the rubber line does not spin. The Metal line (14mm)has the fitting on that spins. Look at it closely and it will become clear to you.

Position the wrenches in a way so that you dont go too far when breaking them loose, Once you crack it loose, You will be able to clearly tell which is which. Just soak it in PB. Hope this makes some sense.

Thanks for the input..
have you seen jjrocks install vid on youtube?
Why does the 14mm wrench not move at all? Thats so confusing agh
