I've done as much research as I could on this but as rookie I need to ask the veterans. What are the major differences between the EVO big 16g and the EVO III GT? I purchased the latter and I want to know with the basics (FMIC, bigger injectors, turbo back exhaust, etc.) what type of results can I expect on my 4g64?

Check this link out - www.turbochargers.com

There's alot of conflicting opinions but I get the idea for the most part. At $549, I just hope I didn't end up paying more than needed. Thanks for the help. Now in your opinion, good or bad for the 4g64?

I am sure it say EVO 3 GT right there.

Look on DSMTalk, there was a thread started by the makers of the GT where you can hear their side of the story. Also, a test was done by a wiseman over there I believe where he had an evo III and a GT bolted on, and the GT actually flowed 2 lbs/min more.

Just food for thought (although I ordered the MHI Evo III)

Well I read that article about 100times and did my own research....Slowboy racing did a good job with that break down of that turbo. I talked to a couple of DSMers in my area that bought that GT turbo one of those ethusiasts has blown bearings already. The GT was a means of creating a turbo at a very low cost so that China can get their hands into the US import world at a cheap cost (you know how they are....always selling things cheaper than the US does so Our economy turns to crap)

Everything created is a means of cost reduction to make a better profit

Just like SBR explains, the metals are of lesser grade....which the color distortion shows. It basically tells us that our REAL 16 turbo's have special materials that allow long lasting life, performance, heat resistance, and alot more efficency.

I'm not going to completely down grade the power of the Ritz Cracker GT, sure it probably provide some good power, but it will only last just as long as a 80 year old fart with an erection

CONCLUSION
What I will speculate is its basically another XSpower/SSautochome bag of BS with a a greater way of hiding the downsides. Just get a real big 16 turbo with a nice port job and it will blow away that hunk of junk those people seemed to create.

I love DSMtuners....

So all bullsh#t aside, with my EVO3 GT, will I be running a proven up and coming turbo, or some crappy p.o.s. that will not be heard of in the years to come?

You'll have to be the one that tells us the answer in the coming months.

You Sir, are a ####ing tard. you have no evidence to support that everything SBR done in that is completely true...take a look at this http://www.turbochargers.com/Evo3GT.htm

I try my best to stay out of the EVO III GT threads... but dammit, its late, I am at home, god only knows what I am still doing online, and some people have just got to stop.

Think about it, I order an EVO III GT turbo from a vendor who has a great business, and also supports this forum. He will remain un named. I get the turbo in a few days later, and simply take it apart and document what I saw along the way. How hard is this to understand?

Why would I have lied about something so simple? If your thinking to yourself, to get back at T.com... LOL... no way, they are so far in my past it was like a speed bump in the road of life. There was a time I looked up to T.com, and was one of there biggest customers, now I am one of there biggest competitors. However, I would never stoop to their level, I do not have to. I have a much better business than T.com, and I can sleep at night. Even if I took apart the turbo, and liked what I saw, I still would have posted what I found regardless!

Why, after I report my findings was there a $150.00 rebate on T.com page for faulty Evo III Gt turbos? Coincidence? Hmmm.

If you want to call me a liar, you have got some nerve. I suggest, you show up to my shop and say it like a man, or else shut your internet tough guy pie hole. This goes for anyone who feels the way the above poster does.

If you are expecting me to be drawn into more drama, do not count on it.. I love reading post from the uneducated consumer.

The argument between RRE, turbochargers.com and SBR has already been discussed, but this is not what this thread is about.

The Evo GT is marketed as an already upgraded version of the MHI Evo III 16g. It has an upgraded flapper door, is cast without the step in the turbine housing for the O-ring and supposedly uses different amounts of metals in their materials. Flow-wise expect nearly the same, as many people have already made good power with this turbo. Please keep us updated with impressions and dyno results if you get to that.

If you did your research you would know the differences as they have been discussed numerous times.
