evo 3 max psi on stock motor

i bought a 95 eclipse gst a few months ago,the only mods that was done to it was a front mount ic and a evo 3 turbo everything else is stock. i noticed a while ago that the car was only boosting 5 to 6 psi. i know these cars run way more boost then that stock. from searching i get that the evo iii cant boost stock psi without surport(injectors,ect.)what i want to know is what is the max psi i can set the evo iii turbo up to on a compleatly stock tuned engine?????? the only thing i plan to get is a knn kit and a 3" cat back and also i know i need to rewire the fuel pump. i am also tired of searching for what is the stock psi on a gst i see anywere from 8 to 15,and most every body says it depends and every car is different ! i know it depends with mods but i want to know stock..i know damn well that dsm did not randomly set every eclipse at different psi from the factory does anybody know?

How are you able to boost 5 lbs? The wastegate should limit you to no less than 8-10 lbs? Check your boost gauge, and also check to see where your boost leaks are. Stock boost on 2g is 12 lbs. It varies depending on knock, and air temperature. Less boost will occur if your engine sees knock. More boost if the air is colder.

Yeah it should be about 11 or 12 stock, you got something going on there. You shouldn't go over 14-15 on a stock fuel system.

Also make sure your wastegate system is all good in working order you can check the wastegate acuwaiter with a manul bicicle pump it sould push out with in -1.5 to +1.5 of 12 psi

yeah man I had an evo 3 and ran a vacuum hose straight from the compressor nipple to the wastegate (minimum boost) and saw 10-12 psi.. my bet is you have a boost leak so the turbo is pumping hard but its leaking out somewhere, either that or your boost gauge sucks or is hooked up wrong.

I suppose this assumes the turbo and engine is in good condition, and you have no leaks on the turbine side of the turbo

2g is 12psi Stock.

You can run 15-16psi on the e16g with no boost leaks.

1st thing that's gonna do is most likely sputter the fuel pump wont be able to keep up after that its the injectors not being able to keep up. I mostly try to keep it at 15-16psi and if you get any shuddering,popping ect turn it down simple as that. Remember you should always boost leak test your setup or the above wont do jack for you if you have a huge leak.

Its not 12 psi stock. Im sorry but i have never seen a stock 2g have 12 psi. That is a 1g... a stock 2g will push 14.7 pounds. That is the factory setting on the bcs. A t-25 flows alot less then a 14b so that is why you have a 2lb difference between the two.

Wrong please don't spread wrong info 14.7 is not stock that's 1Bar and 1bar is not stock. Also The operation of the BCS has virtually nothing to do with intake pressure.1G cars have a stock boost pressure of 8-12 psi. 2G cars have 10-15 psi.

I say 12Psi is factory setting -/+ 1.5 psi all depends on leaks ect. In his case I would go around 10psi for a nice stock setting.

i have know idea how or y its at 5 pounds, i got the car with the turbo installed so i have know idea what the other guy did and if he messed with any vac lines. so even if the wastegate vac lines were messed with it should still put out no less then 8 psi? as soon as i can im going to leak test the system. a few things that might give a clue is that i have wastegate sputter at lower boost but at higher boost it doesint sputter,i also have a high idle problem but i dont think it has anything to do with it because its intermitent.

5 psi is seriously low....you must have boost leaks, also maybe get a better boost gauge and check for kinked vacuum lines etc....

and stock boost for my 98 GSX was 9 psi.... zero leaks... now im set at 17 psi on my 16G...
