Ok guys so here is my situation. I am in the final afternoon of my build, 97 spyder gs with a 97 4g64 bottom end and a 97 2g head tapped for a 1 g CAS signal. The wire harness is from the original 1997 spyder and has been rewired accordingly. I am retaining emissions equipment for now and its all from the stock spyder. I have roughed the two modules on the firewall as best as I can figure out but the problem is the evaporative emissions purge solenoid. On the stock spyder it is mounted in the dip in the IM but on the turbo IM the facilities are used up by other plugs and the coil pack. Also I can’t figure out for the life of me where the vacuum lines for it would need to run since on the Spyder IM it had spots for them. I am at work right now and get off in 6 hours and am hoping to get home and finish this thing and have it ready to be broken in tomorrow. Any help would be amazing. Thanks in advance Guys.

Joe

If it's a mounting issue just look for a good place to tap a couple holes and mount the solenoid there and route the vac lines accordingly. the problem (if you consider it a problem) for mismatching engine builds is the proper fitment of some components. You're lucky in this case since its just an emissions issue and can be removed without any sideffects.

So, you can either mount it somewhere else.. or get rid of it (which is what i'd do along with all the other emissions crap)

I fabbed a bracket for it so its not a mounting issue I just cant figure out what lines need to go to it. On the stock spyder it goes into a small nipple on the IM where it dips in and then to the canister but on the turbo that nipple isnt there. Can I put it in the P on the turbo throttle body since that wont be used for anything on my build. Trust me I will be eliminating it all eventually but for now I need emissions done and its just easier if it is all there and working. Plus I dont mine the upped MPGs.

Thanks for the response
Joe
