My question is this.....After driving my 92 eagle talon tsi (Fwd) long enough to reach normal operating temp ( 195-205) it stays extremely hot for several hours after I shut it down.It doesnt over heat,it just stays hot forever. Its mainly just my valve cover. My temp gauge only reads about 130 degrees after 2 1/2 hours and I can touch my exhaust manifold and not get burnt, but my vavle cover is quite a different story.
I was told by a mechanic that it is not your normal dsm.(meaning its faster than any other dsm he has driven:sneaky: )The guy I bought it from had no idea what had been done to it WTF .The turbo looks larger than other dsm's I have seen.It already a few of the free mods done to it .Im starting to think that it might be built :D , but the only way I can find out is to take it apart. In 6 or 7 months it will be time to replace my timing belt and I am just going to rebuild the engine and transmission. So I wont know anything till then.
My question is...........could the fact that it might be built be the cause of it staying hot for several hours?Or is this normal for all dsm's?Thanx.

Any engine will be too hot to touch after driving it, even with the car shut off for 2 hours the hood is closed and the heat has nowhere to go. Turbos will produce a lot of heat. All of that heat just sitting under the engine bay will take a while to cool off completely. I remember the days when I thought my car was fast too. LOL now they are long gone and I can't make her run right.

Its an iron block, it doesn't give up its heat very easily.

Post up a picture of the turbo or just an underhood picture.
