Engine Temp. Gauge!

When i start my car and drive for a while my engine temp guage reads normally and then suddenly just drops when i accelerate. The engine feels normal and the gauge never reads that its overheating but when i put the cruise control on it levels out some what.

What could be wrong??

If your thermostat is just opening, the temp drops quite a bit.

Yeah i mean its just weird because nothing other than that is wrong with the car

Checked the coolant level lately?

Other than that, it's probably just a bat T-stat.

Yeah it leaks no coolant. the level of that is where it should be. Ill check out the thermostat. thanks

What a coincidence. I had the same problem. I replaced my CTS yesterday and it fixed it.

Mine did this on the highway, turned out i was a little low on coolant....and cts? not sure what that is, but if its a new thermo they are only 11 bucks from autozone.

CTS= Coolant Temperature Sensor

CTS = $20. A little bit more at the dealer.
