I have a 92 Eclipse turbo Automatic. Somone offerd me a engine out of a non turbo automatic. I know in the 2g's its a completly diffrent block. He insist that is the same block, just diffrent manafoldes. Is he insane, or will that engine work?

Thanks

if it's a 6 bolt engine then the block is identical to the 6 bolt turbo engine except that it does not come with oil squirters. the pistons and cams are different. if you have a 1G 7 bolt motor then i don't know.

The thing i was worried about most is the compression. I thought the turbo engines run on way lower compression?
