i just had my engine rebuit (ross/eagle, bs eliminator) put oil in it (only about 3.5qts) and the dipstick was wet about half way up. thought it was because of dry turbo lines etc. started it for just like 10 seconds, level was the same, started it for about a minute, same thing. then i changed the oil to check for metal chips/shavings but it was ok. filled it up again w/about 4.5 qts and level it still way high. oil pressure is at the tip of the symbol toward the high side. i have no clue whats going on, asked the machine shop but they have no idea either. also the dip stick slides down the tube but you have to force it the last half inch or so, just throwing that out there. sorry about the essay but i am super worried about my car! please help me :sosad:  thanks

no, the oil pan is fine. this is the same dipstick i've had in the car but this is the first time this has happened. someone told me that w/ some turbo cars when you fill them with oil the first couple times the reading you should take is after it sits for a day. anyway, so i made sure it had the 4.8 qts of oil, let it warm up for like 10 minutes, then went for a little drive. NEW PROBLEMS: i can only get the car into 2nd and 4th gear! i tried reverse but im pretty sure it went to 4th. The only guage that works is my oil pressure guage...no temp, speedo (i know why this one's bad), or tach. so that was a fun drive, any more help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. :beatentodeath: :dsm:
