Emissions????

Okay i figured I would put this In the Tuning section because tuning can control your emissions so I hear. I heard that 1g because they are OBD1 nolonger get the diagnostic hook up during emissions because they are not ODB2. and all they get is the sniffer in the tail pipe and a check for a catalytic converter . So in this instance the emmission inspector wont notice that i dont have an egrvalve because he wont read it on the machine. I was told that i can pass emissions if i lean my car out on my afc and replace the exhuast tomake it look stock. is this true thatyou can pass FEDERAL east coast emmission VA if you lean out your car (alot)

It depends on the car, and the situtation.

If you have a cat, usually you don't have to work too hard to get it to pass.

I don't know how strict the emissions laws are in your state.

If it's tuned properly, and has a cat, it should pass the emissions.

Also, note that most places will fail you if you have a CE light.

90's do not throw cel lights if you just use a blockoff plate.

Unless they dyno it there you should be able to pass as if the EGR was not blocked off. If they do use a dyno it might be a little harder. Keep in mind that AWDs typically don't get dynoed anywhere because of the complications.

I have known of many people who have passed just fine w/ out a cat actually. As long as your o2 sensor is good and your car is tuned well you shouldn't have a problem other than them actually looking for a cat and not seeing it.

I actually have a ct it is gutted its a fwd drive they do dyno it but i dont have egr at all jdm cyclone motor so there is no place to put it .i was going to put stock exhuast on it again with cat and run it that way and just lean it out.

If you have a CE light, and they won't pass you for it, just unplug the light.
