electrical problem, but car runs.

ok, well i ahve a mustang and im selling it for a dsm. my bud is selling his 1g 93 talon. he said the car runs but electrical wont work. like no power to headlights or windows or gauge lightning but hte car runs. any ideas waht to check for? hes going to fix it before i buy it. think maybe swapping ECUs and seeing ? thanks yall

I had a problem similiar to this. Check the fuses in the engine compartment. It could be the 100 amp alternator fuse. Thats what it was on mine. On my car it was the door locks and windows that wouldnt work. Hope this helps.

alright thanks ill check that tomarrow when i go over there. im not sure cause he said the headlights dont work either but the car starts and runs.

also i wouldnt swap ecus with someone, you might be buying them a new one if you fry it.

Rememba, check those fuses in the engine compartment and under the driver side dash and steering wheel, if automatic, not sure if a clutch would be in the way of the small fuse box there. Then again, it's 1g, and I'm thinking 2g, but always check though.

ok so far im gonna look at

1. fuses and that larger fuse in car.
2. check ecu... see if a diff one works.

geez man. Have you even checked the issue with the provided information that was given to you? Instead of trying to gather all these ideas, apply them to yours or your friends car to see if they work and then come back stating that you tried there solution to the problem and if i did work or didnt work. Then you should ask for more information.
