I did this just as a good laugh due to I was board. So I was on ebay and say an electric supercharger was said to increase hp by 8-12 with supporting modification. I really did not think it would do anything just putting that out their but hey you never know right. Got it installed it and wow:hellyeah:. It was like I just put 60$ in a grill and burned it really total fail! If you breath you may move more air then this supercharger. Any way just wanted to share a fun was of money and to let everyone know yes they suck and are not worth anything well ok one two things look super cool and I have seen an addd of 3-5 mpg more. Please do not flame this post or me I really just did it because I wanted a good laugh. Sorry for the misspelled title auto correct.

I always wondered if they made ANY difference. Thanks for being the guinea pig!

Thats a good choice for compound setup - big turbo and small electric supercharger.

hey.. he got 3-5 mpg more.. it will pay for itself with the gas prices going up..LOL

Hell yeah, we want daily updates. Count me as subscribed

LOL!
This reminds me of when we had a car on the dyno and we decided to test out a few of random things. First we put a leaf blower up to it for shits and giggles. That actually did work, then we put one of these things on and it hurt the output. We also tried one of those cyclone fans that goes in the air filter (on 350's) yeah that didn't hurt or help it.

Its always fun to experiment with odds and ends to see what happens.

take it out. if that $60 dollar piece of plastic breaks like it most likely will it will send plastic into your engine and could do some serious harm.

and obviously it wouldn't work it spins cause of the air passing through it haha for it to actually do anything it would have to suck more air through it then already comes in. plus it is a restriction it blocks the flow of air.. haha

but im aware you did it for the lulz and is completely acceptable haha

I think a peice of plastic will just melt when it hits the engine, and become another stain and burn on the cylinder wall.WTF

Any pictures or videos of this in action. I demand it

Such a postwhore thread. Funny anyways

Someone told me dry ice around the circle breather on older vehicles LOL

Call me stupid but when I had my eclipse nt. I was looking into this electric supercharger, but just looking at the size and the design I knew it would not do nothing. So being a imaganist at a young age. I went to a second hand store and biught a leaf blower. Tested it to see if it even turned on. It did and that thing blew nice and hard. The blowing diameter was 2.5 inches and fit nice on the engine bay after doing some cutting and modification to the blower housing. Had the piping and all fitments. Like at time I was young the only thing was I did not have the money for a high powerconverter to power the blower to see if something like this would actually work. If someone thought of the same thing and actually finished let me know if it did do anything.

The whole time I kept staring at your avatar going WTF??? But then it caught. Cool cars theme man

You won't be disappointed.

*Edit*Damn. Beat me to it.

That video and pic of the electric supercharger does not even equal to that of a leaf blower. When I modified the housing to fit in the engine bay it still had the turbo snail look housing. That's what i meant if someones has tried that setup like that not with that cheap ebay looking thing.

this is not the actual one i used but some what similar. bottom inlet where it actually sucks the air had a plastic mesh cover to block rocks and stuff like that and measured around 4 inch diameter and the outlet was 2.5. basically cutting the handle and cover to the electric motor for engine bay fitment. connecting the on or run button to a toggle or push button inside the car like a shot of nos type of set up LOL. with the turbo housing still intact i'm sure if powered with the correct amount of a power converter it would prove to be if any 50 times better or will actually work compared to this falsely ebay electric charges that look like a computer fan.
