Electrial mess II

So recently i made a thread about how my battery had burnt yes burnt. Turned out that i had a bad alt. i took it to O'reilys and the damn thing wouldnt pass. So i bought a new one and everything seemed to work good.

Today i got up took it to work and came back home. The car ran great no problems. Then i went out and i turn on the headlights it started to act kinda funny. My gauges dropped and suddenly i couldnt see my lights anymore?? I saw the light were on but really dim. i came home since i was only a block away and the car died. i charged the battery and it started right away then i turn on my lights and it starts to die off like the lights get dim, idles low and then dies.

Im stuck now the battery and alt. are both brand new. i checked all the fuses and they were all good. what could be causing this?

Check the alt positive wire and connection both ends (careful it's hot voltage - don't touch any metal or safest to disconnect battery negative first) for clean and tight connections. What voltage do you get at the battery while idling and headlights off, then on?

so i started the car today in the morning again and it seemed to work fine i didnt turn anything on and 3mins later it just dies off and it wont turn back on by itself..

so today i made myself a little test light to find what exactly was draining my battery.. i was taking out all the fuses and when i got to the ones in the engine compartment i took the ignition switch out and the light went out completely. so basically this tells me this is what is causing the short right?
i also checked the wiring under the box and everything looks in place? where else can i check?
