I got the SAFC2 setting stuff figured out, so I'm all set there. I really need to get link. What I am installing now is going to be on the bleeding edge of what the SAFC2 can handle before *PING PING PING BOOM* becomes a real possibility. The thing that seriously pisses me off about having done these hack mods to make the 1g ignition work on my motor is that although they do work, a factor as simple as ambient air pressure can change your entire tune by a noticeable amount. I never saw that mentioned anywhere prior to doing it, and I didn't think of it unti after the mod was done, but that is what happens. Even though my car believes it is driving around on top of Mt. Everest right now, it will still make adjustments based on barometric sensor readings as the atmospheric pressure changes through the day, which in turn will jack up all your settings depending on the weather. I'm not sure if that is a linear calc or not, but mine makes changes large enough to notice on the wideband. It sux ass, and I am saving up for Link before I run it now... And my POS throw out bearing is buzzing around on the input shaft, so I need to get that fixed, along with synchros and a shot peened 2nd and 3rd gear set since I'll have the tranny out anyhow.

Just thought I would check in since I haven't been on in a while. The eclipse has been on hold for a couple months now due to my back completely going out on me. The second round of surgery was yesterday so hopefully within the next month or so I will be back out and about. Just a quick update I am receiving a new holset HX 40 to replace the 35. My bro id trading me a brand new .70ar BEP housing for hx40. I will have the DSM flanged HX 35 BEP housing and the stock manifold with a 38MM wasyegate provision up for sale as soon as I can get out there and work on it.

How much will you be asking for the Bep hx35 housing? If you can pm me I'm very interested in It. As that's what I'm planning on up grading to is a hx35.

I go to the local dump, get on the truck scale, and ask the attendant what the weight is. It happens to be 3115 lbs... And it was ffffff fffff fffffffff ffffffffff FREE!!! They are usually pretty cool about doing that.

27th of what, may? Hopefully more than 6 people show up this time. Haha. Whatever day it is, count me in.

CRANKWALK

I was trying to figure our why my point of engagement on my new clutch would sometime slip down closer to the floor. I thought I hadn't adjusted it right. I had already eliminated my accumulator, replaced the hose section with steel brake line, threw out the restrictor, adjusted it like the Jacks Trans video says to, and bled it multiple times. It still did it randomly. I tried holding light pressure on the pedal and turning hard each way to see if it slipped. It did. So I jacked it up and pulled the wheel off, grabbed the harmonic balancer, and shoved on it. THUNK... It is sloshing around almost a 1/16th of an inch. Other than the cluctch though, it is symptomless, so I hope I have a little time to find another block.

If any of you have a 98-99 short block with decent thrust bearing clearance you want to sell I NEED IT. I am trying to avoid having to purchase any more then necessary to keep it going because I am already too far in debt from all of the work I have done to this car and money is tight. It's my daily driver, so I am in a bad spot.

Unhook your wastegate so you dont build boost, and you should be fine to drive it for a good while. Just make sure to drive like a grandma. 20w50 oil might help a bit in prolonging it.

May 27th? I will still be out of town.

So when would you be back in town and able to cookout?

Yea, I am doing that. I am also going to order new bearings and have the crank surface welded and milled back to spec if it has hit. It doesn't sound like it. The engine is still pretty quiet, short of lifter tick. The crank seal has started to leak a little though, so I don't think I have very long before there's some serious damage. Hopefully, a bearing replacement will hold it over for a while, because I am having trouble finding a decent 7 bolt short block for sale at a price i can afford to pay that isn't already on it's way out also.
