EGR Plug help

I found a thread but still not sure to do with this plug. I dont want the check engine light and Im installing the stm blockoff/removal plate

I deleted mine and didn't get a CEL but of course all cars are different. You could try to plug it in but mount it somewhere out of site?

You can still add the blockoff plate and keep the EGR valve on and connected.

Just mount the plate inbetween the valve and manifold.

Just add gaskets on each side of the plate.

Works like a charm.

It looks like the elecrical wiring will unscrew from the EGR. Remove the elecrical connection, plug it in, turn the car on, and see if you get a CEL. If it does not throw a code, zip tie the wire out of the way and call it a day.

Its an EGR temp sensor to detect if the EGR system is working on California cars. If you remove on unplug it you will get a CEL. In link, just go to ECU config, then DTCs tab on the left. Then, uncheck the box next to 'EGR' and you should be all set.

Or, if you're good with a soldering iron, solder a 62Kohm resistor across the two wires on the plug side.

This tells the ECU that the temp sensor is doing it's thing and will never cause the CEL to come on.

AND, if you're really good with the soldering iron and know how to go into the harness, attach the resistor in the loom where this EGR temp connector wire comes from and hide it in there.

That way, the sniff squad won't see it when they check for mods and your EGR is intact prior to the sniff test, and you'll pass emissions test in a breeze.
