The car's CEL light came on and doing the VOM pulse test, it pointed to the Coolant Temp Sensor, which indeed was bad - no resistance coming from it.

Changed that out, undo the negative cable on the battery to clear code for a minute, reconnected cable and did the VOM test to make sure the code was cleared out. Yep, - series of short and fast sweeps on the VOM scale that the ECU was in normal operation mode.

Took the car for a spin. CEL light came on again. Did the VOM pulse test again..."still the same short and sweeps displaying normal operation" were the results.

Repeated the battery thing and another VOM check: short and fast sweeps of a normal ECU.

Took it for another spin and same again: CEL light came on. Did the above tests and same results: Normal operation..

Dang...what gives now?
