ECU upgrade? venom 400.

whats the deal on the venom 400 ECU upgrade ? supposedly its a 25% increase on horsepower and torque?

can i just get the same results from a manual boost controller?
suggestions and comments on this please.

This part is garbage. Look around the site alittle more and you will see the WHOLE picture.

It gives you nothing that a part at half the price couldn't give you. Yes, I am talking about a MBC.


"The Venom 400 is a device which claims to improve non WOT performance by 20 to 30 percent. Sounds great right? All from a simple device you plug into the ODBII connection on your computer.

Read what it does again carefully. When you don't have the car floored, acceleration is increased by 20 to 30 percent. When the car is floored, performance is identical.

So what is it doing? Say you have the gas pedal at 50%. The Venom 400 tells the computer that you've really got the gas pedal at 70%. It "feels" like the car has more oomph, but it doesn't; the device is just fooling you into thinking your car is accelerating faster. You can get the same effect for free by pushing down on the gas pedal further, which is really all the Venom 400 is doing for you."


Trust us, if it was a worthy power adder you would see ALOT more people running it.

Its a sad device really.

Fools the ricers into thinking they have somethig when they really dont.

Sadly enought i had one of those things. I had it on my stratus. Did a dyno with it and actually LOST 1 hp with the dang thing turned on.

I'll put up a dyno if you want to see what a piece of crap it is.
