ECU or OBD Connection Port Problem.

Hey, I just recently picked up my car and the CEL came on. now, I work at PepBoys and had my friend (technician) hook up the scanner to the car and it said 'no communication'. I then went online and built the l.e.d. tester and hooked up the light to ports 1 and 12 of the OBD port. Light didn't flash at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do?

Check your radio fuse in the fuse block under the hood of the car.

well, My radio doesn't work. I took off the panel next to the center console and found what looked like cut radio and speaker wires. Would this have an effect??

Not as long as the fuse is still good.

Since some of your wiring is hacked up you might want to try checking for codes at the ECU connector. Pin 1 is the output that goes to pin 1 on the DLC. Pin 12 on the DLC is just chassis ground. Also make sure you wired the LED right (LEDs are polarized), pin 1 will be the positive connection. If the LED is backward it won't light.
