Ive searched and not found anything on replacing the actual transistors in the ecu. I havent popped mine open yet. Im wondering if anyone has experience with it?
Backstory: After getting socket conversion and link(only 300 miles after i bought the car iirc) i get random cyl 3 misfire and it goes lean. SPARK IS GOOD. Please, ive been down that road.
Anyway, if i flick the keyswitch off then on it goes away. Well, first things first test injectors, resistor box and wiring to the ecu. ALL good. This has done this on a brand new set of pte 1000s and now a set of freshly benched/cleaned bosch 1600s.
It got worse the other day when i tried to start it up and it was only running on 3. No turn off then on trick this time. It was steadily running on 3. And even pulling the #2 injector as well didnt seem to effect it. Weird.
Pulled plugs to verify and sure enough one is leaner than the rest. I wiggle some wires around and test a few more things.
Weird thing is it started running right, or what i THINK is right at this point, and i drove it for a bit. All looked decent and pulled well. Im thinking since ive exhausted every other possiblity its the driver for the injector, which if im not mistaken will be a FET or transistor located in the ecu. One thing after another with this car. It just wont stop.
Also of note: When it was "running right" i could pull injector 2 and barely notice any change at all. Pulling 1,3,4 made it really stumble. So im a bit confused if you cant tell through the rambling. Sorry for the long post and thanks fellas, and ladies.
