I just got my shepherd tranny back and in, and now my car wont start...right now i have my exhaust unbolted at the o2 housing...when i went to start up my car today (for the first time in months) it started and died...we checked connections blah blah, we found however, that when the MAF is UNplugged, it will idle fine all day long, but when i push the gas it stalls...hooked up a scanner, and got a codes for "IAT sensor circuit malfunction", "MAF or VAF sensor circuit malfunction", and "MAP/BARO circuit sensor malfunction". Then we remembered we needed to plug the MAF back in, we did so, disconnected the battery for a few, and ran the codes again...it says "PASSED: no codes"...but it still wont start right...it will start up, hit idle, drop to about 100 rpm, surge up to idle once or twice, then just die...what the shit is going on here??? the o2 sensors are probably gettin weird readings, but ive driven with the exhaust unbolted NUMEROUS times with no trouble starting or running....what the hell is goin on??

I too have done a tranny job on my dsm, and I remember there were a few vacume lines that needed to get hooked back together. One at the MAF, two on the intake boot 'tween the air box and turbo, and then the WG vacume lines. But you probably got all those, they are pretty obvious. Maybe try a different MAF sensor unit... I dunno... shrugs

i have already tried another MAF...same result...this shit is so weird...my buddy says maybe the o2 sensor, due to open loop and closed loops when the maf is plugged in and unplugged....he says at closed loop it dies because of o2 sensor screwing up, but when the maf is unplugged it idle right in open loop...i donno...why cant these damn machines ever cooperate??
