I'm currently running BFGoodrich gForce sport tires on my GST and traction is definately still an issue. I saw these tires "Kumho ECSTA V710" the tire looks basically like a slick and its under their "competition" class of tires. I was planning on using these on my front wheels, and wanted to know if anyone else was running this tire so I can get some feedback. :thumb:

They are awesome tires for track use (Road-Racing, auto-X). They are an R-Compund tire so they do grip really well.

Not sure what type of racing you plan on doing but for road-racing/auto-x, its best to have them on all 4 wheels rather than just the front. With them just on the front you will oversteer as your front will have awesome grip and your back end will feel like its on ice.

Great tires, they have tons of grip and last a long time. I prefer the feel of the Hoosier A6 but because the V710 is much cheaper and lasts a lot longer their the tire to go with.

The v710s are NOT for street use, just get the kdws, they have pretty good grip. If your drag racing, get some drag radials. IF you do end up doing autox, do a6s or any of the v710/v700 series.

the V710s have such a stiff sidewall they dont really work well for acceleration. I can put the power down just as well on my 235 BFG KDW's as I can with the 275 V710s. The lateral grip isnt even comparable of course:thumb:

I've got a set of the more treaded v700's and they grip like a madman even after years of use. Not the kind of tire you'd want to use on the street though. I drove about 2 miles on mind to a local autox, but that was more than enough for me to want to get back home and take them off.

Out of curiosity, why? Do they just pull you all over the road?

They pick up stones like crazy and on anything but a pretty clean road they can get squirrely really easily.

I drove behind a friend a few years ago with some 700's on and it sounded like someone was bead blasting the front of my car. If you drive on the street with them, Im sure youll end up with a bunch of pist off people behind you.

Another thing is theyll only be good for dry weather. They can be ran in some water, but I wouldnt recommend much. The law here just got changed to if your tire tread depth is less than to the head of guy on the quarter (use to be the penny) then your tire is illegal.

Wearing your tire down that much doesnt take long on a tire that has a wear rating of 50.

If you want a REALLY good street tire, go with the Toyo Proxy RA-1's. They are not that sticky until you get them warmed up, so you dont wear that much tread, plus you wont be pickin up to much crap off the road.

I just upgraded my tires and so far I like them. I was going to go with the Nitto Drag Radials but for the price, the Nitto Invo's seemed a better choice for me. I paid $625 out the door for them, slightly less traction than the Nitto DR's but they are quieter, can be used in the water and come a out around $270 less than the DR's.

I have only done some city and highway driving so far, second saturday of next month I will be able to tell how they do on the track, I am sure they will be better than my old, hard, Falken 215's.

Invo's are a great street tire, but never will run as good as even some worn down Falken 215's on the track.

I will say though that the v700's will hook up like a madman when warm and on a clean street though. They would hold wot acceleration from my car in 1st gear where I spin even 2nd sometime now and I'm working with 50mm wider tires now.

I have had problems with the old falkens breaking loose in 1st, 2nd and very rarely 3rd gear. Anything has to be better than those tires I had.

I'm willing to bet if you'd looked at the tire where the tread surface met the sidewall you'd have seen it was purple from being heat cycled so often. Once they start turning colors like that they've lost about 80% of the grip advantage they'd have over a milder performance tire.
