I'm considering purchasing an o2 housing with external dump on eBay and would like to know what fellow DSMers think about it. Seems like this person has sold them before and there's a member on classifieds that is selling one also. Hopefully someone who has purchased one before can give me their review. Thanks. My choices are the ebay o2 housing w/ external dump, evoIII o2 housing, or ported 2g o2 housing.

External dumps sound cool, and help hold boost better. They get rid of pressure faster. There really isn't a negative except not looking sleeper and attracts some attention. Of course there is the prices difference. You can always buy and cut/weld your own dump

I don't like how short the dump pipe is, I'd be weary what it might be metling in the engine bay. Quite a few people melt radiator fans over time.

Otherwise, I like it.

i have been looking and waiting to hear some good feedback about the ebay dumptube but i also saw that SBR offers a 2.5" o2 housing w/ dumb tube + 44mm WG ... soooo heh i'll probably go with that instead.

O2 flange and downpipe flange are too close together. You are going to have problem bolting it to your downpipe and the dump is gonna dump all the exhaust gases on your oil filter. Support one of our fine vendors and buy one from punishment-racing.com. Only a few bucks more for quality work.

Does anyone have photos of the punishment racing o2 housing installed on their car? Any review? Any issues?

I have one on my car. Perfect bolt pattern. You need to go buy 2 bolts to hold it to the downpipe like any other o2 housing but the fitment is perfect and has held up to the heat.

Actually the dump doesnt interfere with anything at all. I have had my SSAC one installed for a month now, and its pretty nice. It dumps low enough to not cause any issues. I have a 3inch downpipe, and it fit fine.

95gsturbo and Nicks2319, can you guys take a photo of the o2 housing installed on your cars? Also it would be great if you can send me a short video clip of how the o2 dump sounds. Thanks.

Mines been on for 3 months now. I love it.... it is loud though ROFL

I bought it used and it is still holding up great. The welds are beautiful, it still looks good and I don't have any problems.

Thanks guys on your feedback on your o2 housings. It would be great if you guys can e-mail me a short video clip of how loud the o2 housing w/ external dump is under normal driving and WOT. My e-mail is [email protected] It would be greatly appreciated! Can't really find many video clips on tuners or other sites.

Good to know. I'm still deciding and sent some questions to the ebay seller. I thought there would be more reviews of this o2 housing since the seller is selling a lot of them to DSMers. This website is the online DSM central.

I made a review on it some time ago. This is for the 1g iwth a megan turbo back exhaust.
It is a good looking piece. Shinny and all, Stainless steel. The welds are decent. No doubt about it. But the fitment sucks. First, you will have to enlarge the holes for the turbo to housing flange. They don't align properly. Second. For a 1g with a megan exhaust, such as my case, it will not bolt up. Why, the housing to down pipe flange on the o2 housing, sits too much of an angle. If you force it to mate, then your dp and mid pipe will hit the oil pan, transmision and driveshaft. I currently have the 1g o2 housing on. (stock for my car).
Yesterday I took it to the shop and had them modify it. So that it is identical to the 1g. (height, flange angle, etc). I still don't know if its going to work but will see.
What I recommend you to do is: in my opinion, buy 1 from punishment racing. I talk to them already to what I was told, the fitment is perfect. Stupid me, I wasted money on a pretty product that doesn't fit. You pay for what you get:sosad:
But don't let this stop you, this is on a 1992 talon awd with 14b and a megan 3inch turbo back. If anythng, my 02 housing could've been a defected on that was in the dumpster already and they just decided to send me that only defected one. Who knows. If so, then, it kinda makes you wonder Hmmm....LOL
Other than that, it comes with all hardware that you will need for the install.:thumb:
