Are the Ebay gauges (El Cheapo Brands) any good at all? I mean has anyone bought and installed any of the cheap 20-30 dollar gauges that are selling on Ebay

let me know
peace

I think its luck of the draw becuase I ordered a boost and a/f guage and my boost guage works fine but the a/f guage never worked didnt even turn on.

Don't skimp out on gauges man, stick with the name brand ones. Stuff that is important (oil pressure, boost, etc.) needs to have tabs kept on them and if the gauge goes out or isn't working correctly, you are in for a ton of trouble.

Autometer seems to be a good, budget gauge. Phantom or Ultra-Lite works good and can't beat the price. Never had any problems with them.

Autometer makes some cheap gauges, and I believe my VDO boost gauge was only like $20. You're safe with both these brands.

I have Ebay gauges (GLOW Shift) and sofar they work fine.. only my a/f gauge, and boost gauge are installed (Havnt installed the oil pressure yet)
but i dont have any problems. I am pretty much stock right now so i dont know how they will hold up in the futre when i start moddign... but i doubt any thing will go wrong.

also have glow shift.. works perfect.

yeah,
ok well then those are all good opinions and I appreciate your comments...

I need to quit smoking that Mary Jayyyyyyy

I'd stick with reliable brands like autometer for decent prices, some of the cheapo Ebay gauges tend to be very inaccurate. I like to know exactly what my boost is not close to what is it. Just remember you get what you pay for. Derek

it really depends on how the product looks. if the page is crapily made and they want an arm and a leg, do not bother. but if it looks like an actual ebay store, and they want a reasonable price, based on pictures the product looks ok, then its worth the risk. i for one trust msot ebay products. then again, i buy little things that really do not make a differance. its all up to you mi amigo! :D

While I am a pretty strong believer in "you get what you pay for", I don't think that rule really applies to a boost gauge. It's pretty hard to mess one up, and I have been running an eBay one for over a year and a half now, with no issues. It's one of the seven color ones.

Boost gauges are kinda like test pipes; you need a real idiot to screw one up.

I just ordered a Voltage, Boost, Oil Pressure, A/F Ratio Gauge from Glow Shift it a LED 7 color display.

I seen a pillar and a choice of 3 guages for about $95. I think im gonna give them a try. Ill let you know how they work. I just dont gave the money to spend to buy all the good name brand stuff.

i have just installed the glow shift boost and air fuel gauge, work fine, boost gauge runs about 20 hg of vaccum. but i am not sure if it is accurate, can the t25 with no boost controller run 16psi, bcs restrictor mod has been done.

Dont even bother, the pillar fits like crap, i had them on my car for a little bit (glow shift) the boost gauge worked good. You could see the wiring through the windshield because the pillar fit so poor, just get the gauges if anything and buy a good pod.

Honestly i dont kno if it was all that accurate, i just know that it worked, if i was you i'd spend the extra cash and get some autometers.

thanks for the info:thumb: i was considering doing such. u think it is possible for the t25 to run 16psi with the bcs mod done and no boost controller. the t25 has bad turbo seals and is dying, so i heard when this happens higher levels are possible

I had a SPW boost gauge (7-color ebay special) for a while. I was never really sure how accurate it was until I installed my e16g. With no boost control and a stock exhaust, I expected 10psi (b/c of wastegate spring) and the guage read exactly 10psi.

The backlight died after about a year. Only problem I had.

The only reason I'm getting rid of it is because my car got broken into and my pillar got ripped off. Hasn't worked since.

had my faze boost gauge for 6 years, it even sat for 2 and it works perfect, and indiglo still strong. But I paid 70 at the itme and it's now 40 on ebay. I agree with most to spend the money and buy quality

Get Sunpro Gauges....they are incredibly cheap, amazingly accurate, and for 15 bucks i think they are the best! Ive had mine in for a couple months and no problems. I spent 16 dollars and about an hour of install time. They look good and when you connect the lighting to the dimmer switch it looks stock...if thats what you want. IMO if you want something cheap go to your local Autozone pick these up, along with some extra wiring from your local hardware store. Best 16 dollars ive ever spent!

I bought this gauge on eBay almost 2 weeks ago and installed it as soon as I got it. It was the cheapest one on eBay at that moment.

First, the gauge was a different design backplate... it actually looks nicer than the one in pic.
Second, the packaging of the gauge was very nice, very professional and not some cheapo can't-read-half-the-words-on-the-box.
Third, the gauge does come with a hose and bracket, even though the auction doesn't mention that.

The gauge is made by TomMotorSports, they seem like a small, but well established company.

Only thing I don't like about the gauge is that its hard to see when the sun is out. But at night the backlight is beautiful.

So far I'm satisfied with the gauge...

ok got my glow shift gauges installed they all work other than the A/F ratio gauge and that thing is goin freakin crazy i dont think it's the installation either maybe a faulty o2 sensor not sure.
