If you shop at an Auto Parts store, you're better off buying REBUILT axles for our cars than NEW ones.
The new axles are ALL made in China, and judging by the quality of the Chinese turbos flooding eBay you'll be changing lots of axles if you buy any that are made in China. The rebuilt axles are all rebuilt from OEM cores, so you'll receive an OEM axle with new boots and new joints.
While this may be 100% true for a replacement axle on a 4 cylinder Honda Accord with 170k on it, I'm talking about reliable axles for our cars that are driven hard and launched regularly.....for the new axles coming out of china they are actually quite good. I work for my Dad at his parts wharehouse and we have sold the chinese axles for the last two years and have had an extremely low amount of defects. We used to have 10 times as many problems with defective axles when we used to sell rebuilt ones.
