So my stock T-25 in my 95tsi awd auto blew finally 115k miles on it. And I bought a used agp rs49 50 trim turbo which I sent out to be rebuilt. Since I dont have the supporting mods for the 50 trim right now I say hell for 400 bucks lets see how bad these ebay kits really are, all you guys complain and moan and groan. Today the kit came from SSAutoTrash(chrome). And to my amazement it looks really well done. All the fittings and gaskets and studs i'll need are there. I'm pretty afraid of using the O2 dump to atmo housing it came with for noise reasons but it is really well made. The manifold is tubular and is also very well made, no slag on the welds everything has been ground clean and ported. The Flanges are very thick. Now heres the kicker the turbo LOOKS really clean and the exhaust side has obviously been ported and cleaned up nicely and it came with an adjustable waste gate actuator. Who knows how long the bearings will hold though.. I'm crossing my fingers. The kit also came with a lower IC pipe with a nipple already in it for bosot source and a J pipe for us 2g guys to hook up to the right spot. Even the oil feed line it came with is actually quality braided stainless and the return line and water line are as good or better than stock quality. I am no fan of cheap parts and I have a 2000 mustang that I drag and run 10.20's consitantly so I know you get what you pay for, believe me the parts I run in that car are not found on ebay. But we'll see what happens. If anybody wants to know I'll post some post install info about how easy or hard it was and how long it holds up. This is just my daily driver and I could always drive the mustang if this kit kills my car, although local cops aren't fans of slicks and long tube headers ;)

Haha why would you install any aftermarket turbo without a boost gauge? My internal gate works fine. I dont see any spiking or creeping and everything is running good. Half of my 400 mile drive already driven today and no problem I did a few WOT pulls up to about 120 or so from 40ish. Pulls much harder than before and no issues.

I took them this morning and I'll have em tomorrow. I dont have a digital camera sorry. Everything is a nice blueish-gold color now. No more beautiful polished stainless.. oh well. Ask any real car guy what color a manifold should be and his answer should be rust :) So pics tomorrow. After the 400 mile drive no issues. I should probably check to make sure all bolts are tight this weekend. Any time you do anything exhaust wise, always re-check bolts afterwards.. Expansion and contraction ususally makes them lose.

Sorry to dissapoint all the ebay turbo critics, no oil or coolant consumption to report.

Car feels 13ish again without tune and only running 14psi. I would say with a bigger stall convertor and maybe 20-22psi the car would go mid to lower 12's. 11's are pretty much out of reach of this turbo unless you really lean on it an run 25-26psi and use race gas or a good anti-knock agent such as alchohol injection. But it's a great street turbo. I dont know why so many people are crying saying it isn't enough power. I'd rather have a turbo that spools nicely and maybe run a 50 shot of n2o on top for big races than have a monster turbo I need to rev up past 4k to build good boost. I'm kind of partial to spray cars because i've had 2.

Lol! again just cause your car did not blow up in the first week does not mean you have "proven" the "ebay turbo critics" wrong.

Do your thing with that turbo! I for one am really happy you received a good turbo at such a great price. Everyone, give him a few months to beat on it for a good credible review. So far so good!

Anyone have any problems with the Autodynasty Big TD05H EIII 16G? Just bought one and wanted to know if I should install, or send back.

Thanks

A few months ago i too bought an ebay $400.oo "EVOIII 16G" kit. When it came in i was shocked to see how nice the kit was... all the bolts were nice, fittings, and gaskets all included. It seemed too good to be true. Well it was for me.... :notgood: I ran my car alot this year and my best time was 13.07 out of the ebay turbo ( not too bad... but could be better ) and now that it is the end of the season i wanted to check out everything and make sure my turbo was still in good shape. The shaft on the inside is full of play, and you can even move it fowards and backwards inside the housing! Today i ordered a full garrett turbo and im looking to take this kit out so i dont get any problems from it. Overall i cant say it was a junk kit... 13 flat is the same as an EVO MR does in a 1/4 mile so it did make some power but i just had a bad experience. WORD OF WARNING!!! just watch for shaft play and check it out every once in a while. GOOD LUCK, hope all goes well for you!

I've had my SSAutoChrome Evo3 for a year now and have had no trouble. I ran a 14.196 at 97mph at Norwalk, which is really slow to me but it was my first time at the track too. The kit had everything I needed except I had to pitch the oil feed line. It was a hard line piece that only half fit. I had to cut it in two and splice it into the stock feed line. After a week of that, I ditched it for a SS line from RRE. The oil return line leaks a small bit from the flex section, but it hasn't got bad enough I have replaced it yet. It's run 20,000 miles so far, and seems to be fine. Made 12 passes at Norwalk at the shootout in one day. And for the record, that was my wife running those 16+ second passes during the open runs, not me. I was the only 2g there racing with a bra to hide my broken purple front bumper. heh. Anyway, for the money, it got my car back on the road for just over 400 bucks, no real complaints for that cost.

Over a year at 20psi and at least 7,500 miles on it, some in & out shaft play no up and down and the compressor housing is loose. But somehow it holds toether, it works fine but cheap in every sense of the word

ya my friend is running an ebay 16g with 15 psi daily driven and works fine, its been in his car for a while, and races it at 22 psi. so not all of them are junk

put it on works good so far just have to port my o2 housing before i can really use it. had to adjust the waste gate down alot

Old thread i know, but just curious as to how that turbo is holding up for you? Any problems with it? Checked for shaft play since install? How was the install kit it came with?
Please let me know. Gotta get an install kit and for the same price as most dsm vendors i can get a turbo with the install kit for almost the same price.
---Ryan.

yeah the turbo is working fine still havent checked for shaft play yet and all the parts for installation including 2g install kit was included.

yeah that was the whole reason i bought the kit in the first place for all i care the turbo could have worked for a week just wanted to try it before paying twice as much somewhere else

I too used a 16g on my 90tsi awd. (pics available) But anyhow, the car was damn fast, 17psi with a terrible launch it pulled a 13.7@110mph at the dsm/suby shootout. I beat it senseless, and hardly ever turbo timed it, and it never ever gave me any trouble. Very good quality, and I would do it all over again. :)

Ok thanks a lot for the update. I think I will probably go this route instead of just getting a used 14b and buying the install kit separately for atleast the same amount of money as the whole evo316g and install kit including shipping. Hope I get the same quality as it seems you have gotten.

Oh and also, how does the turbo pull? Does it pull much harder than the stock t-25? And is there boost creep with it?
