East Coast Road Trip IV ** Back To Myrtle Beach**

Ok, I'm planning on going, if the car doesn't break of coarse.

What highways are you all gonna be driving to get down there?? I wanna meet up and follow.

Also does anyone know how the waves are this time of year as well as water temp down there?

I would like to leave friday afternoon/night if that works out.

Um, I guess I can add my name. 2 weeks is a long time for mine to stay running. :D Especially considering I just put a motor in it.

I'm working on it. It's kinda a hike from up here but I've always wanted to go. I just put a 2.4 in so if it holds together I plan to make the drive. If not i'm gonna try to ride with someone.

Ok guys, last few trips we usually just showed up and went with the flow. Some expressed concerns about having more organization. Well this trip I am going to try that and see how it goes.

Keep in mind that you do NOT have to follow this, it is simply a tool to make some things more enjoyable.

Also, please take the time to surf the internet about Myrtle Beach if you have not ever been there before. I do not mind helping people out with things to do but I am by NO MEANS a tour guide. So please, if you go on this meet... please do not come up to me EVERY 5 minutes asking me "So what are we gonna do?" I will tell you "Whatever you want."

FRIDAY 2O FEBRUARY

4:00 PM ARRIVE IN MYRTLE BEACH.

6:00 PM MEET UP IN FRONT OF QUALITY INN SUITS HOTEL.

6:15 PM DRIVE TO DINNER AT DAMONS.

6:30 PM DINNER AT DAMONS.

8:00 PM LEAVE DAMONS HEADING BACK TO HOTEL.

8:30 PM ARRIVE AT HOTEL.

8:30 PM UNTIL? CHOOSE TO CRUISE STRIP OR HAVE DRINKS AT BEACH HOUSE BAR IN FRONT OF HOTEL.

SATURDAY 21 FEBRUARY

9:00 AM MEET UP IN FRONT OF QUALITY INN SUITS HOTEL.

9:15 AM DRIVE TO BREAKFAST AT EITHER DENNY’S OR HOT STACKS PANCAKE HOUSE.

10:15 AM FINISH BREAKFAST AND HEAD TO CAR WASH.

10:30 AM ARRIVE AT CAR WASH AND WASH CARS.

12:00 PM LEAVE CAR WASH HEADED TO HARDROCK CAFÉ FOR PHOTO’S.

1:00 PM FINISH PHOTOS AND ONTO SHOPPING AT BROADWAY AT THE BEACH. (lunch will be at your leisure)

4:30 PM MEET BACK UP AT CARS AND HEAD OUT TO HOTEL IN PREPERATION FOR DINNER.

4:45 PM ARRIVE AT HOTEL, TIME TO GET READY FOR DINNER.

6:00 PM MEET OUTSIDE OF HOTEL.

6:15 PM HEAD TO DINNER AT DICKS CRAB SHACK. www.dickscrabshack.com

6:30-6:45 PM DINNER WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR.

AT THE CONCLUSION OF DINNER, I WOULD LIKE TO CRUISE THE STRIP ONE TIME WITH ALL THE TUNERS THEN ONTO THE HOTEL. AT THAT TIME YOU MAY EITHER CRUISE THE STRIP MORE, HAVE DRINKS WITH ME AT THE “BEACH HOUSE”, GO BACK TO BROADWAY AND EXPIERENCE THEIR NIGHTLIFE AT “CELEBRITY SQUARE”, OR DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.

SUNDAY 22 FEBRUARY

11:00 AM MEET IN FRONT OF HOTEL AFTER CHECKING OUT.

11:15 AM HEAD TO DENNY’S FOR BRUNCH.

12:30 PM HEAD BACK TO WHERE EVER YOUR ASS CAME FROM.

DJM is simply a website, there will be A LOT of car clubs there. Last year DJM claimed that there were over a thousand cars and trucks there on the strip.
 
97EclipseGSX and Fish3rboi i live 15 mins from Broadway at the beach in an apartment. I got to the university right in conway. We have more then enough room if you need it, since i see you guys are looking for a room. Theres a couch and if you wanna bring an air mattress or something. Just let me know, and anybody that needs a place to stay you guys are more then welcome. later
 
Nice job with the planning Ed. Sounds like a fun time.. And thanks B.J. for that generous offer. I'm pretty sure I speak for both of us when I say, "Hell yea, we will stay on your couch".. Anything to save a little money...

Since we are most likely going to arrive later (leaving around 6 from Virginia Beach), does anyone have a cell/email we can use to find out where you are? I just wanted to drop a couple other ideas for saturday night after dinner and cruisen the strip. If anybody wants to there are a couple different go-cart tracks we could hit up. Nascar speed park, which is ok, they have a lot of tracks. The one i like best is Afterburners, its at 38 Ave North on 17 business behind a Hooters. Its indoor with electric carts, they are fun as hell and fast. There is only two different tracks at afterburners, a large road course and an circle track. Its a little bit expensive from what i remember the last time i was there but its a lot of fun. They also have a bar there so if you wanna sit and chill and they have video games and pool tables. Just throwin the idea out, ill try and think of some more things,since i live right down here, but so far i really like the list, good job Ed. Later.
 
Does anyone want to go in on getting a KOA Campsite Cabin for $50. I'm not sure on how big one is but as i recall they are a pretty good size. You are pretty much left alone and can do what every you want as opposed to a hotel. Pretty much anything would go. The cabin would be open all night to anyone. Bonfire and everything else that goes on with that... you know what I mean. Location of the campsite
This is just another idea. I'm yet to talk with my friends about this. I'm just throwin suggestions out. You could stay where ever, a good alternitive to a hotel room. I think i might drive out to the beach tomorrow to go check this out. Anyone want in on this or have anyother suggestions send me a pm or whatever.

I'm definately going to Myrtle I'll be in the yellow EVO and my friend brandon with a white WRX will be with me also.....I'm not sure if we'll be spending the night cause I have to discuss it with him a little further....But we'll definately be there !!!

That sounds dope. Do they let you race together or send you out 2 at a time or some crap?

You should check and see if they offer some kinda big party discount. :D

Cabin sounds cool but I think I'd rather be in a hotel close to all the action. Ed's reasoning sounds good too, "can stumble back to". :thumb:
 
As far as the go-carts goes at Afterburners, they will let i think around 6 people out at a time, maybe up to 8. I'm not sure though about group discounts, ill figure it out though, ill give them a call tomorrow. I dont see why we wouldnt get a group discount, i used to go there a lot and the owner was pretty chill. Later.
