What's up guys, I was wondering if I could put eclipse taillights on my talon with out changing the middle piece. So I can keep my talon center piece. I don't wanna convert the rear into an eclipse. Thank you

I haven't seen it done. I'm sure it would look ugly though with the Talon center piece/license plate arrangement. I know the talon tails are bigger than eclipse's tails. Which is why when you do a rear eclipes conversion you have to weld the rear bumper enforcements up higher so I would imagine you'd have to do that to fit the eclipse tails in...

anyone correct me if i'm wrong.

There will be a hideous gap between the bumper and taillights. it would look stupid. You could try using red taillight paint to hide the amber part of the taillight if that is what you dislike about the Talon tails.

Step 1.Look at your back bumper and talon tail lights
Step 2.Look at the eclipse tail lights

Do you honestly need someone to awnser this for you dude? Its common sense.

I know they dont look the same.... I want to just change the taillights to carbon fiber and paint the talon centerpiece black.

I'm not gonna touch on the gap issue as it has been stated plenty already…, but I believe the talon center piece is wider than the eclipse center piece and you'd have to either convert the whole light setup, or modify the talon center in order to fit the eclipse lights correctly, then seal them against moisture. In addition to that, I've seen pictures of other 2Gs that have the conversion where the person had to drill a few new holes to fit the lights. That part I'm not sure if it's nessesary, if so many people do it, but this one did.

Also, if you want the lights to operate the same as the eclipse bulbs, you have to do a little rewiring, and if you're wanting to keep the talon bumper, where are you putting the reverse lights?? There's none in the eclipse tail housing...... you might as well keep it all talon parts (as was mentioned earlier about them dissappearing) or do the complete conversion, not part of it.
:aha:

Please dont get ricer taillights. The OEM Talon tails look way better than any aftermarket eclipse taillight out there. Especially fake carbon fiber taillights.

I think im gonna just tint them instead. Maybe try to install some leds behind the talon emblem.
