e85 causing problems?

I was just wondering how many people have run e85 and noticed over a time period that either, their injectors were gummed up, or fuel filter got clogged, or causing other problems like that?

those are the known problems with e85 already. i have not heard too much about injectors, but the fuel filter is no big deal at all.

E-85, the natural fuel system cleaner.

You're gonna have too swap out fuel filters a few times the initial swap to E85 from gasoline. This is normal.

Swapping fuel filters is a must after going to E85, I would suggest doing it within 50 miles or so. Some have had issues with injectors gumming up, it seems to be easily fixed by soaking the injector tips in gasoline for about 20 minutes and wiping them off. There has been some speculation that this "gummy" substance is the result of many gas stations using the old diesel tanks to now hold E85.

I have been running e85 in my laser for a few months now. It has seen ALOT of driving and I havent had one fuel issue. I did change the filter after running 1 1/2 tanks of e85 through it. I cut the filter open and it was not clogged or anything. Just a little dirty.

If you have the ability to switch tunes easily, run a tank of good ole dino juice through the fuel system and that will clean the injectors. If not, just pull them and soak as suggested above. I have been on e85 for almost a year and don't have any issues with the 'black goo', but some guys locally can use as little as 1 tank of it before having drivability issues.
