e316g with tial 38mm overboosting

ii just got done installing my tial 38mm external wastegate on my punishment racing o2 housing with dump tube for my evo 3 16g turbo. i havent even gotten on full throttle yet because justo n half way throttle is over boosts to about 30psi and my boost controller is set at 20psi and theres a 16psi spring is the waste gate, whats causing this to happen?

Are you sure you have the boost controller hooked up right! Also you have to hook the controller up to the side of the wastegate not the top.

im pretty sure i have it hooked up right and i also drove it without the boost controller and it still is overboosting to around 30psi

plus the wastegate doesnt even open up or nothing or atleast i don hear it

Run a vacuum line straight to the wastegate and see what it open's at then!

the way its set up right now is a vacuum line from the intake manifold then a T off as one line going to the bov and the other line straight to the waste gate

That might not be a good enough boost source for both the bov or the wastegate. You should run a single line from the intake mani to the bov and a separate one for the wastegate. Instead of hooking up another vacuum to the intake mani, though, you can get a boost source for the wastegate through your j-pipe by drilling a hole and tapping in a nipple.

i didnt notice but i had a nipple alread welded on my lower intercooler pipe right below the j pipe so i just hooked a line straght from the wastegate to the nippe piece without my boost controller and it hits anywhere between 20 to 23 psi max nothng more so should i be good at that amount of psi with 550s....

What other mods do you have, and what do your logs look like? I would bet that your running your injectors a bit to high at that boost, but we have no way of knowing without more info? Whats your wideband reading at WOT in the higher rpms and what do you have the injector's set at on your safc?
