I don't get it either. It's not just hate either, I've had people seriously shocked to hear how much power the 4g63 can make. It's like the general tuning community has completely forgotten about DSM's. How often do you see a DSM on the cover of a tuning magazine? Or even IN a tuning magazine? Evo's out the ass, but no Dizzums.

If you ask me, it's purely marketing. The vendors who support the magazines and websites know DSM guys don't (or didn't) stand for crap parts and expensive bling. But guys who are into cars like Scooby's and Honda's are so hopped up over expensive rims and coilovers, yet willing to buy junk Chinese turbo kits, there's tons of money to be made by vendors. I mean, look at what we as a community, just by word of mouth, have done to shady vendors in the past. 90% of the supporting vendors for Honda-Tech would be completely destroyed over here.

It's about what's popular and lucrative, not fast and powerful.

Plus one, i think so too, Anyone rlse notice the 2013 eclipse doesnt exist? Not that it really matters... But i was hoping mitsu would take the eclipse ralliart and run with it, the 4th gen ralliart was claimed to have a mivec 4g63 awd turbo. Looked alright, but weren't too many made, kinda bummed. Wonder if the value will rise now that the eclipse is extinct. Who knows maybe they will someday looked at dsms like people look at supras.

I like that assessment. I've seen some of the smartest people on this forum. Between explaining airflow, fuel, IN-DEPTH turbo knowledge, its all here. I like the reaction of when I try to explain that EVOs have a revised version of the 4g63 in them.

Just this past week I learned that scoobies have MHI turbos in them. Guy at a local car meet showed me, he used to be a DSM person, but converted because he got tired of his car breaking. He talks about how much he misses it though LOL. I'm literally always the only DSM at the local meets and they just bag on my car the whole time. One of the guys has a bunch of turbo parts at his house for his b18 non vtec motor and it all looks.. cheap. Pretty sure its ebay. When I told him the final turbo I'll be buying is in the realm of $600 and its a fairly cheap turbo for the amount of airflow, he called me crazy and asked why I don't get a $200 20g from the internet....

I had a contractor guy come in at work and saw my dsm pic on my desktop. One of those slightly dirty "I drive a 85 ford escort but owned a super car but got rid of it cause it was junk" guys.
him- hey I had one of those. Is thatun yours? (yeah "thatun" is spelled right)
me- Cool, was it stock?
him- no it was tricked out for power.
me- (head nod) I've done alot of mods to mine. What all did you do to yours?
him- V6 twin turbo.
me- I bet that was hard. What transplant? 3kgt swap?
Long story short he insisted he owned an eagle talon with a stock V6 that he turboed with "twin big turbos" but couldn't even tell me what turbos, how it was set up, any supporting mods, tuning solutions or anything that would convince me in believing him. I politely hinted at some mods I had done to mine such as fuel to keep up with a bigger turbo to kind of lead his nose a little. I even asked if just maybe he had owned a 3kgt but he insisted it was a stock V6 Eagle talon twin turbo.

Damm you even give a guy a place to back out and not look stupid and he won't even take it. It made me want to wreck his brain by grilling him on every detail kind of like when a dog pisses on the floor your rub their nose in it. Like saying yeah I know your a Dumb azz and you know your a dumb azz.

I'm already a fan of the 4th gen's. One with AWD and a 4g63, or even a 4b11, would really put the Scooby's in their place. A while back I saw a really clean p-chop of what the 4th gen Talon would have looked like. It looked so good I bet Mitsu and Chrysler would kick themselves if they saw it. With AWD and a 4g/4b, it would have been one hell of a car. However, I like the rarity of DSM's. I get a lot of "you never see these anymore" comments. But I'll try to find the 4g Talon picture.

Yeah, I believe it's a 16g with the odd 3-bolt "up-pipe" flange (silly Scooby's). The JDM version came with a 20g. I also had a Honda guy tell me I should have bought an Ebay turbo. Minutes later he criticized my Ebay intercooler. :confused:

Come on give the guy a break, its a concept car. You can't tell me if they really produced that car with that engine and all the carbon fiber for a reasonable price you wouldnt buy it? Its kinda corny but from a performance stand point it would be pretty f**king fast.
