I have a 97 GSX, and a wire without a home. it is on the positive battery terminal wire, there is a splice coming off of it and it is a ground. It is the exact same cable as the ground cable on the negative terminal. It has the yellow stripe running the length of it. Is this supposed to be mounted to the engine or just any ground??? i have no idea were this fell off from but it was just hanging there.

hep ill take one rite now and upload it

It splices from the positive termanal wire and has a large atach point on it see. I found this will replacing my Frount Mount IC.

Hope these help

That cable leads to the starter, if you trace it back. It goes on the negative terminal, with it off I can imagine you are putting more load on the alternator and starter since that cable gives them direct contact with the batt... someone correct me if I am wrong on that though

Sounds good. But why would it be in the same rap as the Positive battery cable thats what is  the hell out of me... Some one with a 2g please go to your positive terman follow it down till you find the spice and tell me where that wire goes... I know i probably tookthis cabel off when i replaced my clutch a month ago. God i hope this does not hurt me.:banghead:

that would make sense sinse i removed it. a month ago. were does it bolt to though haha i need a pic or a digram.. im looking in the manual know.

For now i will ill mount it to the battery i hope some one folows it back on there car and can tell me where it goes.

MAN I FEEL DUMB... Im one of those, you know, the guy that tears stuff aprat and puts it back together with bolts leftover. Jeeeeeeessss. At this time im to drunk to work on the car so i will check back in the morning and see what i did wrong.

so the end i have in my hand in the photo needs to bolt to the tranny. Or does the end in my hand need to bolt to the negitive terminal.

HOLY CRAP! DUDE! That is the ground for the modulating diaphramistat!

No, just kidding, I just went out in my frozen a@@ garage and the only black w/yellow wire that comes out of the loom with the positive cable goes to the ground stud on the battery.
It does however tell you that you have good ground paths to every thing, because the only other ground from the battery on my car is a 6" piece of cable right at the battery to the firewall.

FMIC looks good.

Im looking at my chiltons and there is a great pic of the battery and the only thing on it is the ground cable from the post to the firewall and thats it.. :banghead: Im so happy there are others on the web who are willing to help. Thanks about the FMIC it was an all day project.

hey,

i just popped the hood on my ride, the loose ground you are holding should be on the neg bat terminal.

Thank you all so much. If you could LOL take a photo for me and show me what yours looks like. I gota show this to my buddy he will never belive me that ive hade this wire hanging for 6 years. I still cant grip the fact that ive had a wire hanging for 6 years. It does not show this in the chiltons stock photos either.

Ive had a few people ask tonight what IC set up i have. i bouth it from MaxRedline.com Max-Redline.com - Bolt on Intercooler Kit for 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Talon 2G DSM LOL it is the same kit as CXRacing or as Punishment Raceing. My box said CXRacing even though i bouth it from Maxredline, Go figure i guess its all the same. It is a true bolt and evrything is there i mean evrything down to the gaskets. only gasket you do not get is your throttle boddy intake gasket. it even shipped the extra vac hose you need. all for $420

That cable grounds on the transmission. The end that you have in your hand in the picture needs to go on the negative terminal on the battery.

Sweet. Thanks im glad it was nothing to bad. Next question My cars oil gauge goes to 3/4 high at start and after the car is warmed up it will drop below normal till i drive when driving at high way speeds its a few needle tips abouve the normal line. Is this normal?
