I'm thinking about custom fabbing a dual projector system almost like the Miata guys are doing.

What do you guys think about this and has anyone done it before? If not I'll gladly make a few kits when I do mine.

I sourced the light housings. Low beams are projector and high beams are reflector. The housings are 90mm. Four mounting holes are on them and adjuster screws are provided.

Low Beam - $64.25
Includes:
H9 Halogen bulb, D2S HID bulb compatible with slight modification.
Housing
Adjuster Screws

High Beam - $59.75
Includes:
H9 Halogen bulb, D2S HID bulb compatible with slight modification.
Housing
Adjuster Screws

Without tax and shipping I would be down $248.00

I could just buy pre-assembled headlight housings for around 180 and hack them apart.

I'll think about that ^^^

After purchasing I'll start measuring what I have to work with. If I end up having to go with a single bulb I'll do so.

I'll then buy a yard of carbon fiber from http://www.fibreglast.com

Make my surrounds and cure it up.

Those are from a mid nineties infinity. I got some spare flip up housings to do it all. I have them mounted to a plate and the plate uses the existing mounting holes for the bucket. Its a pain to adjust them, but I friggin love them.

The main issue is with clearance in the back. You have to hack away quite a bit of metal to fit them, and since I didn't want to have to get new parts, I cut away a little at a time and it took way too long. The horizontal adjustment is a pain and there really isn't a good way to do it. I made 3 of the holes slotted to make horizontal adjustment and the 4th just lets it pivot. Up and down and left and right are made by changing the mounting "depth" of the other 3 holes as well. I usually have to loosen and move two mounts to get the adjustment right.
