Hey guys, this is my first turbo install. I have it buttoned up pretty well with one problem. I have a tial 38mm waste gate. Now from all that I have read the top fitting on the waste gate connects to your blow off valve, and you can just parasite a vac line in between the two. My problem is that there are two ports in my waste gate one on the back and one on top. I bought the wg used and there is already a fitting and a line run out the back port not the top. So do I switch it to the top fitting and block the rear or do I just block the top??????????

Connect a "vacuum" line between the rear/lower fitting and a boost source. Some people connect this fitting to the intake manifold, while others say exposing a wastegate's diaphragm to vacuum isn't a good idea. The top fitting is only used for electronic boost controllers or more specialized manual boost controllers. You should just leave the top fitting open if you're not using a boost controller.

Off the rear fitting I do have a manual boost controller. Then from the boost controller there is a y. I thought that one went to your bov and the other to a vac source. I have been going off from a few sources for this install. The quote below is from 2gnt. The confusing thing here is that my turbo doesn't have a vac fitting. Wicked confused.

"One vacuum line goes from the top waste gate vacuum port to the bottom vacuum port on the manual boost controller. The other vacuum line goes from the side vacuum port on the manual boost controller to the vacuum port on the turbo."

I assume you ran a vacuum line from your compressor to your MBC. Then run another line out of you MBC and into the side/lower port on your wastegate. Leave the top port on the wastegate open.

That is the problem i don't have a port on my compressor to run to the waste gate.
(Like I see in your set up)

Neither did I, I just drilled a spot for one :)
You can run it from you intake manifold, if you don't want to drill. Although, as Paul said, some people say exposing the waste gate diaphragm to vacuum isn't good. You don't have much of another choice, though. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
