First let me say that I searched for a previous thread of this, and didn't find my answer. But if it's out there, sorry for digging up old news.

I am ready to install DSMlink, which I bought used off of DSMTuners. I am pretty sure it is a ligit copy, as the previous owner hooked me up with this ECMTuning forum username and password.

The package also came with the clutch wiring and directions, but the clutch wire seems kind of chewed up.

I am wondering what is the transistor(??) on the one end of the clutch wire. In other words, what electrical supplies do I need to make a new one?

Thanks.

There is a diode inside the heatshrink wrapping. If you want to buy a new one contact Tom at [email protected]

This wire is only needed for nlts. If you aren't going to be using nlts then I wouldn't worry abou it.

You don't need the wire for launching. The launch goes by your speed. Go push the gas to the floor without this connected and launch control activated. The launch control will work even if you have the clutch pedal up.

Here is the information you need anyway. The diode is a 1A, 50V axial-lead Schottky diode, presently they use a Fairchild SB150, violet and long orange wire to the banded end (cathode), short orange wire to the unbanded end (anode).

No. It will still work with the cluch pedal up. Like I said before the cluch wire is only used for nlts. Why does that matter anyway?

I know this is an old thread but I've got a question, you said the violet and long orange goes to the cathode and the short goes to the anode, but looking at the actual clutch wire from dsmlink, both oranges are on one end and the purple is on the other? I'd like to confirm if your information is correct or not before soldering and cleaning everything up. Thanks!
