ECMlink DSMLINK 2.5 Help!

Just picked up a 96 Talon that has dsmlink v2.5 . I took off the battery and supposedly that reset the tune. The previous owner sent me the tune via email but I have no knowledge as to how to load the tune back on the car. I tried looking at videos but no help. Any help as to how to load the tune back on the car is appreciated!!

1. Open previous tune/log file
2. Go to each tab (if v2 file) and click Copy to ECU
3. If v3 file, go to one tab and click Copy all to ECU

Then go download the v3 app and use it if you haven't started doing so already.

Thanks, im trying to open the tune file but it doesn't show up when I try to open it with Ecmlink..the file is saved as .ecu I don't know if that has anything to do with it?

That's a v2.5 settings file, so you'd need to open that up in DSMlink.

Thanks for your help I really appreciate it as I am not familiar at all with dsmlink. I went to ecmtuning.com and I downloaded the "Windows (complete install" download and that's what is on my laptop right now, is that right? How would I open that file with Dsmlink?

No, that is the v3 file. You'd need to download the V2 DSMLink (v2.5.2.27) file. FYI, this will not install easily on anything but Windows XP.

If you want to post up the file, I can open it and convert it to a .ecm file that you can open using the v3 file.

Yea I tried downloading that yesterday (I have windows 7) and it just wasn't working. I tried uploading the file but it comes up as "invalid." Can I email it to you via my personal email?

I'd add that file extension to the list, but seeing as v2.5 is outdated, it just doesn't seem like a useful addition.

Would you be able to post up a v3 log file taken, even though it will have no tune in it? This way I have a base file to adjust. All of mine are not even close to stock.

Turn key to ON position.
Fire up ECMlink app.
Click Capture log and let it run for 10 seconds.
Click Stop capture.
Find log file in folder structure and attach.
