hey, whats up? im new and just posting because i drove a tsi yesterday and i must say it was fun as hell and i am realy considering a 1g eclipse but just have a few questions that id really aprreciate some help with.

befor you get mad and tell me to search or post in the newbie section i just want to say, i did search but couldnt find the exact answers i need and also i didnt post in the newb section because well i dont want my questions answered by newbs that dodnt know what they are talking about.

ok, my questions are with all the possible mods you can do how much boost can the stock turbo hold on a 1g dsm??? also what is the max hp you can acheive using the stock turbo??? i really liked the response the stock tsi i drove had and i didnt find it laggy at all(imo) and i know numbers are not everything but my goal would be a even 400hp at the crank and i was just wondering is this a reasonable goal for a street car??? is there a turbo for the 1g dsm's that can give me 400hp at the crank with all needed mods and give me the same throttle response as a stock non modded 1g???? oh and that brings up one last question when does a stock 1g hit full boost????

thanks, i really appreciate it

Ok, here we go, some rough numbers for you.

14B is good up to about 24 psi and that is with a lot of supporting mods, beyond that the compressor just gets overran.
Max HP from the 14B is in the neighborhood of 320, again with many supporting mods.
400hp on the street is reasonable for an AWD DSM not so much for a FWD. (FWD is possible, just not overly practical)
There are literally dozens of turbine wheel, compressor housing combos that you could piece together to make a suitable turbo and the manifolds to support them are also widely availabe.
A stock 1G should hit stock boost (10-12psi) around 2800-3000rpm.
Here are some links to some of the more popular DSM shops, they have just about everything you could hope for as far as modding DSM's.

Does that cover it? Other people may be able to give you more exact figures but those should be pretty close.
Aloha

I had my 14b up to 23psi with no supporting mods  hahaha thats why I have a new 6 bolt motor :D dsm's are a blast and will make you poor as hell.

I have a 14b on my car and i made 412 hp to the wheels. Im fwd, but still, 412. But I do have all the supporting mods. :thumb:
