2G DSM Noob question

Was looking at some stuff on the car today, and noticed that the gauge cluster lights wouldn't turn on. There was a little knob below the steering wheel to the left, which looked like it was the control for the dash and dome lights. Am I correct in assuming this? Playing with it yielded no results, so I figured I would ask. Sorry, haven't really payed any attention to it before, because the only time I had ever messed with the car was during the day.

If what you are referring to is the dimmer switch then yes...

It can be dimmer switch or even something stupid like if you recently put in an aftermarket radio and pinched a wire.

Thanks for the help guys, I'm gonna work on tracking down the issue. Gonna start with fuses and checking the switch. If not, then I have to chase down wiring issues, which is no fun, but I can do. Will try to update when I get the problem fixed.

Sorry guys, I know it's been a while. I got the car on the road recently. Figured I'd update you on this. I got under the dash today and checked fuses. Fuses are good. Reverse lights come on. Interior lights come on, and all the idiot lights come on. Just no speedometer/tachometer ect lights. I noticed while I was under there that there is no harness plugged into the dimmer switch. Anyone happen to have a picture of the back of the switch, or the harness end so I can get an idea of what to look for?

Got it taken care of. Just have it jumped with a piece of wire currently between the 2 terminals, until I can get an actual terminal jumper. Shouldn't be long. Thanks again
