It keeps saying timed out failure. it will not connect to the ecu even if i restart the computer. Ive had my last straw with this car and if i cant get it to work its going to the junk yard. some one please help me with this pile.

Have you tried changing the com port? If so have you checked all your fuses?

its the right port but the car also wont hold a charge all the sudden and dies out.I'm fed up with this car and i just spent almost 900 bucks getting this stupid fp green rebuilt. I'm at my last ends

I just got the DSMLink in yesterday and I was installing it but then when I turned on the car to datalog, it would keep saying "timed out" also and it wont connect. I got frustrated too. If you find out what went wrong let me know, I'll do the same. Which port is it suppose to be on?

Are you using a usb to serial cable? You need to check what port the cable is assigned to. You can choose which port to use in DSMLink.

you need to change the com port in the options menu or something like that. there will be a few different ones(COM 1, COM2......and so on. try each until it works). make sure your key is in the on position also

In addition, if you're using something like a Keyspan adapter, you may have to change the COM port in the Keyspan (or whatever) software itself. In my case when I first got Link, the Link COM settings were okay, but the Keyspan software COM settings were not. I had to change both to the same port to get everything to work. Now everything's peachy.
