dsm lifter ticking

at least one of my lifters are ticking on my 97 eclipse. If it comes down to it i will be following the guide off of vfaq on how to clean them and take them out but what i was wondering is if there is any additive that i could just add that would clean up my gunked up lifters? i use molil 1 10w30 as my oil. Do you think i need a stableiser or something ?

Try Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer on your next oil change before you pull the lifters.

Or you could try Restore. It comes in a little silver can. This stuff has worked for many people, including myself and my brother.

Agreed, but cleaning them is just another bandaid. 3G revised lifters would be the only right solution. I've tried cleaning them and helped but didn't eliminate. I suggest if you're just going to clean them, try the additive first. If you're going to pull them then change them to the 3G lifters.

97's have the new lifters already. I cleaned mine and they are fine now. The only reason to replace a revised lifter is if it has collapsed and can not hold it's prime. The only way to tell if they have collapsed is to pull them and clean them and test to see if they hold pressure.
