my turbo is bad i gotta wait till this weekend to get another till then i gotta drive my car w/o it installed. i unbolted the turbo from the exhaust housing and blocked off the hole with the bottom of a wd40 can and that c-ring clamp. i hooked my air intake directly to the throttle body. what kind of side affects will i have driving it like this? lean or rich fuel? so far all i noticed is that there is no power i figure it be no different driving it, like not letting the turbo spool or boost.

i really don't get what u r saying, do you have the exhaust still ran through the dp, cat and cat back?

make sure you are using more of the exhaust than just the manifold if you are not, because after you shut your engine down it will cool the valves down real fast and cause them to warp, which = bad compression.

other than that, just make sure your mafs is hooked up properly and you have an air filter and stuff, and just try to stay out of the peddle.

i have seen this done on a 2g before when a guy was waiting for intercooler piping, and his car was fine, but he made sure he did it right.

don't leave it like this too long....

Because of the compression of the engine, its gonna be a dog, but driving it N/A is the same as accelerating with zero psi.

yea thats what i figured its like driving with a turbo and never letting the boost guage go over 0 into the plus side. right now it has as much power as the 1.8 did. ironic i upgrade the engine just to have the power i had b4 i did the swap. friday ill have a turbo for it hopefully.
