I went to install my clutch with the engine and tranny out of the car, and noticed the 4 bolts holding the clutch to the flexplate are too close to the engine- they stick out of the housing and rub against the thin metal access plate. Is it possible I installed the driveplate backwards?

Hmm, I do not remember the way the flex-plate looks off hand - are you using the specific bolts with the low profile head on them, and not generic fasteners?
