I cannot find these, mine are getting bad it looks like chrome is showing? idk why, but does anyone know where these are, please help...:hmm:

Get some plastic drip in a spray can from home depot and put in a little work and time and they will look brand new! I did mine last weekend and they look great! Just take your time and don't scrap all of the black rubber off because the rubber/plastic over hangs the metal piece on the top. If you look at it you will see what I mean. Scrap off what's bad and plastic dip them and u will be all set! One can is more than enough and at 5-7 bucks a can it beats the 100 at jnz tuning for new ones.

Good luck!!

No prob dude and like I said jnz does have them if they don't come out good. That was my plan but the results are great if you take your time and if you mess up jus go with jnz tuning! I hate how they dry out like that though! I definitely plan to keep armor all on these LOL

I actually lucked up and found 1 side at the local dealership but never did find a new one for the other side :( I got a good looking used one from Miller Imports but I'm still looking at repairing the ones on my GS...thanks for the tips ;)

I usually just look for good donor ones at salvage yards. If the rubber just looks a bit rough but isn't peeling, a light wet sanding will sometimes clean them up.

I don't know how long that Plastidip will last. I have a set that I've thought about trying it on just to see.

Mine are chipping fairly bad on the top edge :( Thought about trying to clean them up good and apply some kind of rubber top then using some self-etching primer and semi-dull paint.

Jnz does not have them...you will get an email after ordering saying that they don't

I went the Plastidip route about 5 months ago and it's still holding up great. They still look the same as when I finished them. I did use clear coat though and it brought out an oem looking shine on them :thumb:

Yeah, I ordered them at least 5 times from different places that "had" them only to get an email a couple days later informing me it was a discontinued item from the dealer. Had the same problem finding a license plate bracket :(

Yours look really smooth, did you try the 2000 grit sanding? Also what clear did you use? I hear plastidip has their own.

I did not do any sanding to the plastidip. All I did was 4 coats of the black, and 2 clear. I used duplicolor perfectmatch clear and thats what made them smooth :thumb:

Plastidip ftw, I did a set 3 years ago and they held up nicely. Even in snow and high temps. I didnt even take them off the car just slipped some jumbo note cards under them. The blowby just wipes off with a dry shop rag. It works well on the bump strips for your doors as well.
