Ok.

This is a very interesting problem I've run into...

First of all, I haven't had a license for awhile, had a "situation" that I got reduced to a reckless driving, 3 month suspension with no possibility for a restricted, so my car has been sitting most of the summer, with an occasional drive to the store for cigarettes or something.

Just got my license back monday.

Beside mechanical issues with my car, I've encountered this one, which could prove to be a serious bi***.

Ever since I bought this GS (last 420a I will ever buy...i hate this pile :p), I've had nothing but issues. When I bought it, the driver side door had been replaced, with a talon one, and nobody ever bothered to put a new barrel in, so the driver side has no locks. Car has power locks, so I can just go unlock it on the passenger side, and it opens both doors, I've been doing this for awhile (since all my money got sapped into lawyer bills and court fees, etc., haven't bothered to fix it yet). The car has been sitting most of the summer, and when I went up to my parents house to pick it up over the weekend, I was sorely greeted. I was up there a week or so ago to clean it out, and there was no problems.

However when I went to pick it up, a squirrel had decided to use my engine bay as an acorn storage center. Cleaned all that out, only to find out that he had put a bunch up by the blower too..haven't gotten around to pulling that yet.....

I opened the passenger side door (wouldn't open from the outside, so I opened from the inside), and then when I went to close it, it wouldn't latch. So I locked the door, and it closed and latched, and I didn't think of it again.

When I got back downstate, I go to open the door again, and nothing. So then I try to open from the inside...nothing. I proceeded to try to unlock it manually....nothing. It only unlocks like halfway, and then sticks. Fortunately, I can still unlock from the outside via the autolocks, but even the key doesn't turn all the way on the outside, just enough to trigger the auto locks.

I am really at a loss here.....I can't get the door panel off, because all the screws are hiding behind the frame, and since I can't get it open, it's not good.

Furthermore, I need to replace the positive battery lead, b/c it's a cheapo thin ass aluminum one, and it's as tight as it can go, but can now be easily pulled off. I'm really, really broke for a couple weeks, but I'm afriad it's going to pop off, or get a bad connection, and then I'm not going to be able to open the car, and/or pop the hood to get a good connection, so I have to pop the hood everytime when I close the door, just to be safe.

Anyway, I've tried pulling the handle while pulling the manual lock, from the inside, and outside, pulling the lock while hitting the power lock, etc. etc.

The lock is still pulling the actuator, but it just gets stuck haflway, regardless.

I sprayed as much wd40 into the crack of the door, by the latch from the inside, and outside earlier, but to no avail so far.

If anyone has any ideas, I'm willing to try it at this point, because pretty soon I'm just going to break out the cutting wheel and rape the door panel, and figure out what's wrong.

I did a ton of searches, and can't find anything on the topic, so if anyone can even come up with a link, that would be great.

Thanks in advance,
:dsm:diab0liK:dsm:

Oh, also if anyone has any diagrams of a 2g door, with the interior panel removed, that would be helpful, or a diagram of the lock system would be incredibly helpful....I rolled down the window and looked in there, the door handle on the outside is still pushing in, and the handle and lock on the inside are still pulling....the lock is just jammed, apparently.

this is becoming increasingly annoying.....thoughts anyone?

First I wouldn't advise bumping or you will be permanently locked out of this DB (against the rules and they mean it and will do it here). It's very frowned upon by everyone which is why no one has answered you. Also you need to have a separate post for each problem - the length of your post scares most people away. As far as the battery lead being as tight as it can go (I assume you mean the nut), try putting a few washers under the nut. Use ones large enough to squeeze the fitting tighter onto the post.

ever since I got my car, it has had no barrel on the driver side. The lock still works, and it has the auto locks, so when you unlock one side, it unlocks both. However, for some reason, my passenger door lock won't open anymore. Fortunately it still turns enough to open the autolocks.

this problem started a few weeks ago when I went to close the door, and it wouldn't latch shut, so I locked the door from the inside, and then it latched. I didn't try to open the door for a couple days, but then when I did, it absolutely refuses to open.

However the passenger door won't even manually open from the inside. It opens about halfway, and then just gets stuck. The key won't turn all the way, and I have no idea wtf to do anymore. I pulled off the cover behind the interior handle, and can see it's pulling the actuator rod, it just gets stuck.

I've doused the lock with wd40 trying to get it to come loose, but past that, I don't even know what to do. I would normally take the door panel off and figure it out, but all the screws are hidden behind frame, so that's out. It's getting to the point where I'm contemplating cutting off the panel with a cutting wheel, which I'm not much a fan of.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Also if anyone has a diagram or pic of the inside of the door (interior panel removed) that would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

there is a metal rod that drives
the locks and check the plastic
couplers that hold them
