This is not the bolt through the arm nor the metal inserts mod.

This is about the metal level that connects the handle to the arm
Here it is in the pic, its the metal piece held in place by the spring.

This is the 2nd time the metal lever bends thus making the door handle useless.
Has anyone ever done any mod to this to prevent future bending? Can anyone make this but better?
Anyone else ever had this issue?

I just repaired them this week, and fiy my handles open with about 5 Degress of pull. basicly you put your hand on the handle and it will open. So there is no force being placed on the metal lever...... idk...

Both sides, one is oem the other store brand.

OEM handles? I've never had an OEM metal rod bend! I've seen the pattern parts hollow and weak or solid and small but the OEM ones are pretty stout, if you can use a small shaft bolt or grab some chromoly bar to use instead

This^ is not about the tube/ shaft that connects the plastic handles to the metal lever

Oh I see what you looking at now, sorry, well I can say that I've never seen these bend, so something is catching in your setup somewhere, they are pretty open and space around them, have you confirmed it's clear from obstructions

i knew i wasn't alone.

[ Great price for the set, they're plastic and shouldn't cost what the dealer asks for them. The plastic parts are fine and acceptable quality. However, the metal tab/lever that depresses the lock rod is thin, weak, easily bent and due to this never worked on my car. I have replaced these handles several times on different cars. Once installed, I pull up on the handle, the door doesn't release. Once I finally get the door open from the inside I discover why, the metal tab has bent, now I have to re-buy handles in the hope that I can find ones that don't have this defect. --------

These handles are horrible. Anyone who has a car that uses them has probably replaced them at least once. I've had my car for about 7 years now and I've replaced the driver door handle 3 or 4 times and the passenger door handle twice. I even bought some steel hinge reinforcement plates to beef up the handle, but now some other internal part broke instead of the door hinge. AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! >.<]

Dude not gonna lie if that was the review from a set of $19 handles then what do you expect! They used finally most likely! I've never heard of this happening and the OEM bracket is pretty strong, if you had OEM handles then I would recheck to be sure they are OEM not not copys

^ I can see you already decided on what's' "what'. LOL.

Like i said one is oem it's clearly thicker and yes believe it or not, it has in fact bent twice.....

I'm trying to use a [slim jim] to get inside the car. So i don't have to brake the current handles i have, i used to be pretty handy with a slim in my youth but it's been a while and i'm sucking at it.

*Point being i know i'm not the only this happened too.*
