Does removing the emissions lines have any hp gain?

If you delete the lines like in the Taboo forum which btw is great, would you see in increase in hp? I know theres a trick for 1gs is there one for 2gs to get quick cheap easy hp gain? I know getting a hard uic pipe and filter adapter instead of the box and getting a mbc turning it up a slight bit and 3 inch exhaust is a good way but is there anything else? A buddy of mine is running the same setup and he dosent have money to blow like he would like. He has greddy recirc bov 3 inch full exhaust straightpipe thats about it. What would a cheap suggestion to increase hp until he can get bigger injectors and a turbo and fmic to support it? I was just wondering other peoples opinions.

Removing the vacuum lines will improve your HP/weight ratio by a few grams.

^^well played.

But in all seriousness, the emissions stuff that could have an affect on power.. main would be EGR, which is only open at partial throttle in order to allow other gasses to fill the engine, instead of air fuel mix, therein reducing the power making displacement of the engine, and saving fuel.
That's why you're able to get 21mpg in 4th gear at 70 instead of 17..
Still... Those exhaust gases are still going over the intake valves and aren't doing them any favors.

I would dig around in that car and get everything out of it. Remove any dead weight that you can including the dirt setting around in the carpet. Pop out the back seat and remove the covers to the fuel pump and sending units and hose off the top of the fuel tank. There will probably be a bunch of mud, dirt, rocks, tar and etc. on it.
If the car needs tires then compare tire weights before buying. Just a quick look around at tire rack and I found tires of the same size ranging from 19 to 24 lbs per tire. Make her lean and she will seem to be mean.

for poor folk (like me and your buddy) its almost always cheaper to free up hp that you already have than to gain additional hp from a pretty optimized set up. i agree with weight reduction, also consider an udp (underdrive pulley) and check for leaks in your intake/turbo system. look into "boost creep" and find the best solution to make sure the wastegate isnt opening before the psi is met... that will allow the turbo to spool faster. go back to the basics and improve on the origional design. get the air the engine breathes in colder... look into mods for th stock intercooler and pipes too. i know none of this is emissions related but its cheap stuff that helps.
