Does anyone have this in their mirror?

When I got my GSX, it has this electronic display thing on the top part of the rear view mirror. I've never seen it on any other DSM, but it seems like it was stock. Does anyone else have it? it reads the outside temp. and the direction.

Ya, I've had people tell me it's stock, and other's say it's aftermarket. I'll post a pic as soon as I can. It seriously looks stock, you would never guess it's aftermarket, which is why I was wondering if it IS or ISN'TLOL

But yeah, it has a little screen on the top and it'll say the temp and direction, and there's a button on top to change to celsius. The mirror even has the little lights on the bottom as if it was stock.

On the mirriors that do have that option I believe the compass and temp sensor are not actually in the mirrior which means someone did some mean wiring to get that in there. Is it accurate ?

See here's the thing. I have this little temperature sender mounted on the front bumper out of view. And the mirror itself has these little antennae things coming out the sides, So I'm guessing they handle the direction part. As far as wiring, I'm pretty sure they are run down the A-pillar, and a few go to my fuse box by brake pedal.

And Yes, it is actually very accurate. Also, the car has only had 1 owner before. He did a few "mods" to it, but they weren't performance related, because he and his wife used to drive it. One thing was a remote starter, and there's a few others like that. So this might be something he put it. Not sure though

Im willing to bet if the wiring isnt dug in and wrapped in with all the other wires in the stock harness then its aftermarket, but either way post some pics I wanted something like that.

Yeah, I would love to see that. I am determined to make my GSX a nice DD.

Man I hear that one.

If I could start over I would do ALL suspension with minor "go" I mean bushings, brakes, full coilover, swaybars...the kind of stuff to make me "Feel" the car and not have to worry so much about things happening. I have to sit down and think of ways to get all this done haha

It's aftermarket. Compasses in mirrors weren't around during the DSM's production era, and sure not on middle-market sports coupes.
I'd bet you can find your mirror on eBay.

probably got it off a cadillac or a late model GM auto. They have such things, I don't believe it would be all that hard to wire up though. probably pretty straightforward. So I guess the answer to your question would be yes, it is OEM. just not ours.
