Does a turbo timer also warm up your car?

I heard from someone that a turbo timer can also warm up your car? Kind of like a keyless remote entry would, I guess I don't know too much about it, but does that make sense?

sure.. go out and turn ur car on and set the timer for like 10 mins .. it just lets ur car run ... so ur car will be warming up without ur keys.ta da

no it is not like a remote start. it allows your can to idle for the preset time with you the keys in the ignition

It does not function like a remote start and is used to allows the car to idle for a certain amount of time (determined by the user usually up to 10 mins in 30 sec increments) to allow the turbocharger to "cool down" in essence. If you were to shut the car off immediately after driving hard, the oil inside the center section would essential bake and form deposits that could eventually seize your turbo. The timer allows the car to idle without the driver having to sit in the car and wait. In addition, it is wired to your parking brake so you must let the car sit in neutral with the parking brake on. If someone were to get in your car, they could not steal it because as soon as they release the parking brake, the car shuts off.
