Does a FWD 3s trans work with DSM belhousing?

Currently in the process of doing a 4g63/64 swap in a FWD NA 91-92 Dodge Stealth. I have done some searching and can't find the answer. Can anyone confirm that a FWD 3s trans will work with a DSM belhousing swapped to it. If not I'll just have to rebuild my 91 trans from donor car.

Last time I looked the bellhousing was part of the transmission case on both versions. It's not a simple swap of bellhousings.

Yes it will work but you need to swap the bell housings around for sure. An f5m33 is an f5m33. I’d swap out differentials also. I’ve heard the fwd diff for the 3s is not to strong. There’s a complete 3000gt fwd sitting in the junk yard here. I need to go get the transmission and shift cables from it. Kinda weird how they’re the same cables that come in our 2g turbo cars.

I'm not sure if you're aware of what's involved. It's a full trans disassembly to even attempt this.

Correct. From what I read the trans has to be disabled to even attempt this. Which in that case almost makes more since to rebuild/build a dsm trans. Makes since to why I have not found one person say they have done it.

I think it still may be possible. Just not easy. My ASA isn't working. What's the part numbers on the mid cases?
They are both F5M33. Main difference being the bellhousing and possibly gear ratio. From what I have read. Unfortunately have to disassemble most of the trans to attempt it.

Yes, after doing research on the swap the 3s and 2g dsms are extremely similar. Even the wiring harnesses are nearly plug n play besides a few pins. It's looking like it's possible but idk if I feel like breaking down 2 different trans to get the bellhousing swapped. At that point doing a 1g dsm trans rebuild makes the most since.

I'm beginning to realize that. Lol. At that point a rebuild of a dsm trans makes the most since. Will be an available option if the transmissions ever become more scarce.
