well i was driving to work yesterday and i was at a light and i looked down at my gauges (i like to check them frequently driving a dsm and all) and my temp gauge was about 3/4 of the way up!!! around then the light turned green so i took off and the gauge dropped back down to normal (1/2 way) and slowly started to go up as i cut it off and rolled into a bank parking lot (it might have gotten two needles higher than normal the 2nd time). well, long story short the upper part of the radiator broke off where the hose clamps to it, but there was still enough to get some hose on it, so i made that work and filled it with water from the bank and drove it on to work, no smoke idled good a/f good. drove it home no problems. drove it to my buddies today and put on my cop setup and did a few "angry" pulls out in the road (around 20psi 10.3 a/f) still no smoke/oily water/watery oil. but i have been checking the water and all though its not getting hot it is slowly losing water??? havent had too much time to look into just looking for some opinions. my coolant CEL is set at 221 through dsmlink and i dont recall a check engine light being on

also the head is a fresh rebuild around 5? months on it maybe 3 months of actually getting to drive it fel-pro head gasket arp studs 85 ft lbs

Why would you think you blew a head gasket? If I understood your post correctly, everything seems to be fine besides loosing coolant? but no smoking or any other symptoms correct? Sometimes when you fill up a radiator after have lost all its water you don't completely let the fluid cycle and you end up with a 90% full system. Then after the system cools and sits over night, next day you check and it could seem low on coolant. Is it a lot of coolant your missing?

You could also be overlooking a slow leak in one of the smaller coolant lines.

I wouldn't worry too much about the overheating, and I really don't think I would be blaming the loss of coolant on your headgasket. On my old engine I overheated many times to the point of almost being in the red, maybe I was just lucky but my headgasket survived.

it was low about a cup of water the first time around, i drove it from my buddy's house to mine (about a 2 minute drive) i just went out and checked it and its just a little bit below the rad. cap housing... maybe its fine idk im about to leave to work ill check it when i get off later
