Do you get annoyed with your o2 dump?

I'm looking at options to upgrade my o2 housing. I would love a tubular o2, but they're pricey. I've also been thinking about an o2 with a dump tube. my problem is I dont like my car to be real loud. Does the wastegate only open during wot? Does it get annoying? Do the exhaust gases create any problems with heat? My car is a daily driver. Thanks for the input.

I still love mine! love it when people ask "why's your car sound like that?" but anyway i dont think it gets annoying, if u have your radio on at a decent level you can barely hear it just blends in with you exhaust. windows down its a little differnt story. heat wise havent had a problem either mine almost touches my fan(for buschur style IC piping) and nothing have melted down or anything. just be sure not to open up around cops. good buy though i think. oh and about the wastegate opening if your on factory solenoid it will open around 10psi otherwise around whatever your boost controller is set at.

A external dump is Fu**ing loud! So if you don't like your ride to be loud then I wouldn't recommend getting one.

I love the sound of mine.....I dont have exhaust on my car yet but i love bein sleeper...no exhaust and when that biotch opens up its a whole other world...Its got a wierd tone to it but its cool...and yes its pretty loud...its sound like a demon when it opens up....but its funny when old ppl in their caddys react when i pass em:laugh: its worth the money and reactions....id say get one!!

wow cool i was just wondering the same thing. i have a stock s16g on right now with nothing done to the exhaust except the muffler is cut off the exhaust dumping to the ground after the rear axle.
in any of you guys' opinions, is it much louder just driving in traffic with the external dump vs. a ported o2?

ever heard of putting a supertrapp muffler on the end of the dump tube? The 3S guys were talking about this not too long ago. It sounds likie it has potential.

I'm getting major boost creep and I know an external wastegate will fix that. Only problem is that I don't like loud exhaust. Would a tubelar o2 fix the creep too? Which ones would work best?

Benn done. Get a tiny moped/generator muffler if you do not liek the sound! I am prolly going to!
